Loved Toyota pick-up trucks since my dad had an 87’ when I was young. I got a 1986 Pick-up with factory turbo back in 2008. Loved that truck, had to get rid of it a few years later. Fortunately, it stayed in the family with my dad. Finally got me a 2018 TRD Off-road two years ago.

Dad had a ‘95 Ram 1500 on the side of the house growing up, but this is MY first truck, Toyota, and taco. Bought two weeks ago, already scheming up ideas!

First Taco. Had a Matrix XRS for 7 yrs or so. Only thing ever done to it was reg maintenance, a clutch and a wheel bearing in 360000km had I not hit a deer and wrote it off I suspect it would of made 500000km as it still didn't even use more that 1/4 a quart of oil between changes. If the TACO is half of what the Matrix was I will be very happy.

I am amazed at how much fun this truck is and how easy it is to spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on it.

Oh ya. Toyota. You can do better when it comes to fuel economy. Much better!!!!!!

At the time it was my only vehicle/daily driver. I got bit by the sports car bug and traded it in for a 2015 M3. I don't regret the trade but what I regretted was going to a sports car like that as a daily driver. The novelty of it wore off quicker than I expected. I wish I kept the truck and just leased the car since I ended up only keeping it a year before trading it in for my Pro.

    Cause I can be.
I need stuff to look at while at work to kill time.
And there's always something funny going on here to laugh at.

    Hope that helps!

Mainly, Its just fun listening to all the shifting complaints, the lack of power, and the always entertaining, oil, tire, and lift threads.

Good news, your rear brakes will last just as long!

Bit heavier now so they might not actually.

TFL ran down the mid size numbers. It was funny, they did everything else which was 60k here, 75k there, etc. Canyon was low but that's not surprising.

Then they go to the tacoma which was like 2x the next best.

    https://www.tfltruck.com/2020/01/to...2019-year-end-u-s-midsize-truck-sales-report/

'20 TRD owner here. I didn't expect a sports car and didn't get one, super happy with shifting and power.

That said, the F150 2.7 is a potential next/was a competitor when buying.

Took 2 full generations of legendary status to convince me to buy. I have unrealistic standards. First toyota/taco. All joining here has done is made me paranoid about things that have approximately a 99.97% chance of being a non issue for all owners ever.

My 2017 SR5 access cab is the first Tacoma for me. Back in high school my friend had an 80's first gen that we had a blast 4 wheeling and I always liked the look of it. My last truck was a 2000 f150 5.4l that I think ford copied the styling from Toyota. Truck never let me down but unfortunately was rusting to pieces and needed to be replaced. Loving the taco but it was hard adjusting from a v8 to a 2.7L.

First Taco, second Toyota (90's Corolla). Love it for what it is, a mid-size truck (doesn't drive like a sports car, huh...), ready to eat up some trails, and most importantly, MINE!

Coming from an '07 Honda Pilot, family car, handed down to my son. That thing definitely rides more like a luxury car, but I'm sure it can't do half what the Taco can off road. I knew what I was getting into, and I'm OK with that.

First taco, first Toyota. Last taco, last Toyota. Not hugely impressed, Toyota’s dealers and corporate support are awful. Just have had bad experiences in the short time I’ve owned it. So gonna go to a JL or the bronco if it’s good.
