    Well I just did it.

Just got off the phone with Sound Man Audio in Santa Clarita Calif. and I put a down-payment on the iPad install!!!

I will be getting it installed at the end of this month(October).

Im very excited for this install.

(Ppl who dont like it can hate on it all they want, i know the drawback, and I love this idea)

Ill take pics at the end of the month with the install and a review about it/Sound Man Car Audio.

I AM GETTING THE 3G iPAD

    INSTALL ON OCTOBER 20TH

awesome, my computer is dieing out, and I am seriously considering getting an I-pad to use as my laptop/electronic storage/mobile music/everything. and I'm thinking the self install in the tacoma should be pretty doable with some more research.

Does the iPad slide in the grooves like Soundman's Tacoma? It's cool but you can't rotate the iPad like the Scosche iKit setup can.

not sure what your ??? about...?

cant really get pictures until its installed, at the end of the month. You can always google tacoma ipad in dash and the video you see from SoundMan is exactly what im getting, cause he's installing it.

Yes, the iPad slides in and out of the dash in a second. Again, SoundMan Audio is doing the install, so what you see in their video is what im getting.

I like the look of the ipad in the dash as opposed to infront of it moving around. I think its more sleek and I dont need to move the ipad to face me anymore than it will when it sits in the dash

^why are you doing this... you can get a decent in dash unit that has Ipod connection and a cool mount for the Ipad.

much cheaper and less of a theft target... its not like you're gonna be surfing the web driving down the road, plus it would be ergonomic to use

It's not the facing rotation that I was talking about, I'm talking rotating the ipad 90 degrees so it stands vertically, which you can't do with soundman's method, it always sit horizontally. And the iPad default screen is meant to be view vertically, and I don't think you can change that.

The way soundman made it, the iPad can be removed by sliding it out just as easy as removing a car stereo's face plate.

okay, so you can move it out... super inconvenient location to actually use the Ipad...

meh... seems like a huge waste of money to me

to each his own though... good luck
