As an HOA president, this kind of shit pisses me off. The neighbor didn't like that the HOA board approved the playscape for a terminally ill kid, so they went after the family directly.

I've lived through droughts, and floods. Sometimes in the same year. I never blamed it on Australia.

Problem in Australia is politicians dictating terms to the people who actually know how to manage the bush and know when it’s best to remove excess fuel via scheduled and controlled burns. The drought just brought it all to a head.

Original settlers who were on good terms with aboriginal peoples learned this from them and have practiced controlled burns as taught to them.

 

Just wow. As a dad this practically brought me to tears. Have to poke around and see if there's a way to help this family and/or a way to fuck the neighbors.

There are people like that everywhere. I had to counsel one of our residents who made demands of the company installing their neighbor’s pool...after the architectural committee approved everything in line with the deed restrictions. They apparently didn’t like that the pump was going to be next to their fence...literally 10 feet from their A/C compressor. They’ll never hear it!

They’re a pair of DINKs next to a family with teenagers, and I think they’ve forgotten what kids are.
