Suggested reading. Go to “forums”, “suspension” also “wheels and tires”

Did you do anything to the back? I’m wondering if I should do 5100s on the back with a added leaf spring.

Don't know why but Falcon isn't a popular brand for suspension on Tacomas.

I haven’t done anything yet, looking for something to improve ride quality without jacking up the back 3 inches lol.

265/75/16 is largest 16 inch tire that won't rub. If you have aftermarket wheels with more offset then you may rub a little on the mudflap or inner fender well.

I ran the teraflex/falcon kit for about 5k miles and then sold it, the rear shocks are nice when loaded or towing. I quickly outgrew the kit. They are for sure better than the bilstein 5100 as far as damping and control, you can’t feel them top put like the bilstein 5100 kit and they are larger volume which you can feel. The bump stops that come with are pretty good and soften hard bottom outs. I had an issue with 2 of my shocks leaking which teraflex took care of but kinda lagged on, you will need to make sure and grease the front shocks every 1-3 k to keep them from squeaking. There is quite a bit of info on this forum about basic lifts so you really just need to search. I’ve had the factory OR bilstein, falcons, trd pro fox shocks, and now have fox 2.5 dsc front and rear. The pro fox shocks are better than falcons but the lift height isn’t adjustable. Are far as tires go unless you want to cut I would keep them at 265/75/16 or less in size.

255/85/16 is the largest you can fit without rubbing

Slim13 Falcon/Teraflex is a local company to you. I would go check them out and if you felt good about the shocks and lift pull the trigger especially since they are in your backyard.

As far as tires go a 255/85R16 is the largest you can go without chopping stuff up. Granted you get a good alignment done. Luckily your in Utah and there a plethora of off-road shops around to do a lifted trucks alignment.

I really like the 255/85 tire size on these trucks. I have been all over southern Utah and Idaho and not had issues with this tires size. Sand and mud they do just fine. I have BFG KM2. If I did it over again I would do Cooper ST Maxx. The ST Maxx has a better looking profile in the skinny size. It doesn’t look as skinny as the BFG KM2 does. If it’s all about looks and you don’t mind doing a simple Cab mount chop then the 285 tire size looks really good on these trucks.

Thank you. I will definitely look into these guys. I didn’t realize teraflex is about 1/2 mile from my work. I’ll go on and check them out tomorrow.

Why did you outgrow the falcons? I currently considering falcons or the Bilstien 6112s. leaning on falcons because they appear to have a better quality construction.

Falcons are nicely built but after their fubar on the JL lifts, I would skip them. They're valved way wrong for the JLs causing them to be super harsh unless you're blasting 75mph out in the desert...which I'm sure is what everyone does. After reaching out to them their answer was I could buy brand new SP2 shocks (I had brand new 3.3s...couple weeks old, SP2s hadn't been released when I bought mine). The fact that they released the SP2 shocks that specifically address the harshness of the 3.3s but refused to do anything for their customers that had barely bought 3.3s rubbed me wrong. I won't ever buy or recommend another TF product, which is too bad because they are about 15 mins away from my house. If they can't get their bread and butter (jeeps) right, I wouldn't trust them to get any others right...nor do they stand behind their product when there are issues.

Stick with the known Tacoma suspension companies (Bilstein, OME, Fox, King, ADS, etc).

I kept bottoming them out driving faster than I should have been. I don’t have that problem nearly as much with my 2.5s because I can adjust them and have better bump stops in front and rear. The thing I liked the most about the falcons was the rear adjusters when loaded or towing.
