Well I thought I had it all worked out...Went to order my tires and wheels from local and very reputable 4x4 store, helo black maxx 6 and 285 70 17 duratracs, they say that the maxx 6 will rub as they are 17x9! These folks have worked on alot of tacos and say they are too wide and I have to find 17x8 with bs 4 to 5 range. Talk about disappointing! sorry ... just have to rant

I know several people who have 17x9 with 4.5 backspacing and they work fine.

I ran some 17x9 w/ 5" BS Raceline renegades and had no fit issues.

A lot of shops just go by what a website or piece of paper says. They don't want to be held responsible if something doesn't fit right. They say a lot of wheels/ tires won't fit when in reality they do..

my moto metals are 17x9 4.5" BS and -12 offset and i'm running 12.50's so the narrower 285's will have no problem if the wheels are the same specs as mine. :)

    2chains,

I've got the wheels in 17x9, BS 4.5" 12mm OS. Right now I have 265/70/17 Nittos. I'm probably going to bump it up to 265/75 sometime soon. I have the 5100s on now and they did rub a bit on the inside fender before the lift but now they never rub...even off road. I don't have any spaces and the tires stick out about an inch past the fenders. I've had the wheels for about a year and no chips, scrapes, or anything else. I get a ton of compliments for them.

Hope that helps! Have a good one.
