Lol. Dont do that right now. Ask me how I know. Just setup a seperate savings account through your bank and stash it in there.

Setup a Linked in page and upload your resume. Be sure to tell it to let recruiters find you.

I considered that but would rather stay on the down low first.

I'd hate to have my current employer see that I'm looking. I want to have my options available by the time I have a sit down with the owner about my job.

I've been here 7 years and have dedicated a lot of time and energy. All too often have I been told that our other stores only wish to emulate the way I have my department run, especially the comradery between my department and the business office.

Most other dealerships, departments are too quick to fight one another for one thing or another. I've changed that here at my store but through a lot of work and relationship building. Like I said, it's not even like this at our other 2 stores and it's all owned by the same individual.

I feel I can take what I have to offer elsewhere.

I've replaced 4 or 5 of them and I've checked them all, double checked and triple checked. They're all tight on the barb. Maybe I'm running into an issue with the incorrect diameter causing the improper volume of air flow. I went down a size on a few of them to get a tight enough fit. The weird thing is that it's intermittent.

What's funny too is over the years, I've developed polices and had them put into place for our company.

Other people hate it but hey, it's in the best interest of the company. I work for the company and I expect to get out of it what I put in.

Having a linked in page doesnt necessarily mean your looking. You could also set it so that recruiters cant "see" you. Just use it to shoot resumes to companies that you find on there.

LinkedIn is just OK imo only of course. Was pushed to get on there during my time with Dell. To this day, hasn't made any real huge difference. Basically just facebook for the office. Don't get me wrong, has its uses but meh.

    I did the same.
Yeah, not sure to be honest. Perhaps the resident toyota rep can provide better feedback.

    Gotcha.

I haven't read anything interesting in some time now so I'm going to take @CS_AR suggestion and get myself a good read on.

Its easier to pinpoint strength in others; all too often, we are our biggest critic and we don't realize sometimes what we have to offer. Guess it's taken me feeling greatly unappreciated and underpaid for some time now to realize that and to start looking.

Here's a link to a summary of the Multipliers book. I'm really enjoying this read.

    https://srinathramakrishnan.wordpress.com/2015/03/07/quick-summary-of-multipliers-by-liz-wiseman/

    Multipliers vs Diminishers

Multipliers : – These leaders are genius makers and bring out the intelligence in others. They build collective viral intelligence in organizations

Diminishers : These leaders are absorbed in their own intelligence, stifle others and deplete the organization of crucial intelligence and capability.

The Five Disciplines of the Multipliers

    1. The Talent Magnet – Attract and Optimise talent
    2. The Liberator – Require people’s best thinking
    3. The Challenger – Extend challenges
    4. The Debate maker – Debate decisions
    5. The Investor – Instill accountability
    The Results

By extracting people’s full capability, Multipliers get twice the capability from people than do Diminishers.

keep in mind what I mentioned, interview is your time to shine. everyone and their mom's cousin has a spotless cookie cutter resume - stand out and get noticed. Not just on paper but in person. Walk-in your resumes whenever possible. Call back to check on status. Email. When in the interview, doesn't matter what the position - dress to impress. always, business dress attire. not dockers and a button down shirt. business suit. Interview is when you shine. Sell yourself. Communicate why it would be a bad decision to NOT hire you. Once you have that interview scheduled, you are already 1/2 way there. Your job to lose.

Immediately following that interview and I mean immediately... send the interview an email thanking them for the opportunity to meet with them. Makes a huge difference.

If you aren't hired, don't let frustration set in - I used to have this hanging in a frame in my office

On the one hand, I know gas prices will be low for the forseable future.

I bought $40 in pennystocks last year. All gas & oil. Its down to about $22 haha.

Ha thanks for the inspiration

Standing out has never been too difficult for me anyway; I was the only 15 yr old to skateboard from home to Toys R Us (pretty damn far) on Black Friday to start work at 430am from our ROP Retail Sales class. Got hired after that shift and continued on with finishing high school while getting paid

    @Kwikvette
Very well put, I see those same things as huge strengths as well, another HUGE plus I notice is communication skills. Man, I can't believe how lost communication is in general. But Kwikvette you can tell is a great communicator, not only that, BUT WILLING communicator.
Not many have the ability to jump into middle of a situation (not life and death stuff, I'm talking everyday little things) they aren't involved in at the beginning and be able to get progress made towards whatever the objective or goal was. And not only able to do, but WILLING does it follow up on it to see if resolution was achieved.
Y'all are gonna think I'm corny and crazy but this is what I love about being in here and getting to know a bunch of you here in the forum and stuff.:D We have some real STUDS here man. I'm extremely happy they chat with me and entertain all the crap I wanna learn from em:cool::rofl:
I memba a couple years back I was saying how much ridiculous talent and ability is in this forum and wanted to round up a group to put together a team to run a Tacoma in the Baja 500 or whichever it is there in baja California, Mehico. How sweet would that be!?
