I seeked out to tacoma world because i wanted to know if any of y’all have tried to put 33’s on with a 2TR-FE truck, i know that the engine is very underpowered. But i was wondering if anyone has tried to put 33’s on a tacoma with this engine because I’m considering it but I don’t want to strain my engine too hard, so if anyone can give me feedback, i’d greatly appreciate it

Do you have an auto or the 5spd? Shes gonna struggle, and its gonna feel overwhelmingly underpowered. If you must go with 33s try to find the lightest ones possible

i put 295/70/17 on my 2.7 5spd and 5th gear was unusable, just didnt have the steam on the hwy. Ive since regeared to 4.88s and then again to 5.29s with the same size tires and i think 5.29s are the best for my uses. It didnt take long for me to want to regear, the truck was really a dog with the 33s and 4.10s

I really like lighter silver wheels, if you've ever seen Ion 171s in silver I would rock those on my BR access cab. 33s would look sweet with 'em. There's something satisfying about getting light or non-black wheels muddy.
