I just received my vehicle registration renewal. A condition of the renewal is to have the

J0N recall performed on my truck.

WHY THE FUCK IS A BLOWER MOTOR RELATED TO AN EMISSION COMPONENTS?

Where does it say blower motor?

Are you sure it's not a test to make sure you have a functioning air injection blower? There are bypass kits that eliminate the AIP system.

Please elaborate.

 

The Manufacturer Recall listed on the page (J0N) is literally to replace the inside air conditioner/heater blower fan.

I'm not supporting it(you do live in the nanny state), but my guess is, state is going to say it's something like "it's a safety issue" since you can't defrost the windows without a blower motor "the damage may worsen, leading to an abnormal noise and eventually an inoperable blower motor fan."

 

That is pretty unbelievable. Government agencies seem to be getting farther and farther away from their basic function.
