    I run mine all the time going up to Steven's pass at 5 am to watch for deer, just turn them off when I see headlights coming, or if I'm coming up on taillights

    You need to search more details. First of all they have to be DOT legal and as far as I know there's only one brand that has those and that's rigid. And second they can only be so far off the ground.

    That's a tough one. I've seen them as low as a couple hundred and as high as $1k. It's not going to be an easy sale, because like yourself, anyone that is considering buying a HU, will probably go aftermarket.
