Yeah it’s not that hard. You would have a wreck or if you just pull over you avoid it

I had the frame recall done on my '17 two weeks ago - they only installed the plug kit and did not apply the corrosion compound as they said it was already applied at the factory. Not sure why that's listed as part of the remedy in the service bulletin if it's already done at the factory. Anyhoo... I live in northern Ohio with lots of road salt and the frame still looks great after 60K miles, so I'm not stressing about it.

Certainly not a death wish but on some highways it might be very challenging to get to a safe spot on the shoulder with no motor, power steering and power braking. I’d be more concerned about getting wiped out by a semi.

It's only specific months for the 18-19 years. I was luckily outside the timeframe for my 18.

We’re going to have more threads about the recall than actual vehicles recalled.

Eh. If you buy a Toyota and don't under coat it, kinda rolled the dice as it is.

I'm happy to NOT have TSS (though I might actually use cruise if I had the adaptive cruise) but to claim the 2017s are the "best" year is hilarious to me. My 2017 had CPS failure, leaky diff, embarrassing noise from HPFP, whistling control arms, leaky windshield, tons of things undertorqued from the factory, warped rear drums, constant whine between 50-70 mph, and a few other things I'm probably forgetting. Spent more time at a dealership with this truck than I have spent in total across the prior 20 years of driving.

NOW the truck is running pretty well and I hope all the problems have been worked out and I can enjoy several more years of trouble-free ownership from here. But 2017 was far from a "perfect" year for Tacomas......

Undercoating is the worst thing you can do for a Tacoma, unless it’s an annual liquid treatment like Krown or Fluid Film.

I like TSS. My insurance quote on a 2019 was much cheaper than a 2016 and I like most of the features. :notsure:
