What makes these better than the redlines?

Nothing that I’m aware of. Their lift height just isn’t as high.

Some features of SPIKER struts - not necessarily "better", but (IMO) better utility and value:
    • Adjustable hood height up to 6" above stock (with benefits like extra lighting and access, and lower risk of head injury)
    • Drill bit stopper included in all kits (way safer than electrical tape around the drill bit)
    • Powder coated hardware for OEM look and maximum durability in all kits (not just the premium kits)
    • 100% satisfaction guarantee
    • ~ $15 cheaper

Got mine installed over the weekend.
THESE THINGS ROCK! Totally worth it.

I did get it done with the little angle rivet gun, but just barely, and the riveting was a chore. The rest of the install was a breeze (measuring, removing mounding, propping hood, taping, marking, drilling, reassembly). For a one off this rivet gun is usable for this project, but knowing what I know now I would have tossed in another $5 or $10 for a better gun.

NOTHING AGAINST THE STRUTS! Quality product!

Ok I am sold! Need a set for my 2019 Tacoma 4x4 DCSB OR. Can I place an order here or on your web site and do you by chance off a military discount? I’m a 20 year retired U. S. Marine still working for the Marine Corps, started in 1984 and I’m still at it. Let me know what I need to do please I’ll pay and I’m ready to install on my truck.

A military discount would be a good incentive. I am retired USAF.

Sounds good! Best way to order is directly through the website - https://spikerengineering.com/product/16-20-tacoma-hood-strut-kit

We don't have discounts for specific groups or categories of folks, but we do offer occasional sales to TW members (like the one we had late last year). You can always wait for another one if you want to save a few $$. Of course our products are already priced well below the competition for similar quality kits :anonymous:.

Minor details! I should have added to the instructions that one of the items needed to complete the installation is ... ... a Tacoma truck! :D.

...and installed today! 38 degrees, so I went with 5.5 inches of lift. Figured warmer weather may give me more - but SO HAPPY either way!

    Thanks again, Leon!
