    My thoughts exactly!

If your worried about breading a tie down or bending the frame hook up to another recovery point and split the load evenly

Is the plow frame you have strong enough to use it as a recovery point intelligently? I'm guessing it is.

Same part, different year. That hook is on the right front on a 2nd gen.

I cut mine off and welded a new cap on it, then reinstalled it. It sits flush with the ARB subframe on my truck. This is definitely not a good place to slide in a recovery point on an otherwise stock truck! The winch pulls from a well supported position, but I wouldn't use any single front recovery point for a heavy yank on these trucks. I use a bridle across two points. Not all pulls require a fully rated attachment point though. If you have any experience with recovery, it could be applied here

A few mods here and there and counting....
If i recall, he measured the dimensions and found the plastic end cap online. Gonna measure mine later and do the same. I'll report back if successful.

Depends on what your primary concern is. If you are placing yourself in situations frequently that may require off-road recoveries then you are going to configure the truck different than folks who want to make sure the vehicle can be repaired after an accident.
