Im trying to decide which to get

a used 2009 double cab TRD sport w/JBL audio, has about 19,000 miles. internet sales told me they could give it to me for low $26k

    a 2010 double cab SR5 4x4,NEW for $27,500

or a 2011 double cab TRD sport w/JBL audio, the offer is currently $29,700 and im trying to get them down to $29 possibly $28500

Oh yeah the 2009 is Manual, the 2010 and 2011 are auto. The internet sales girl was trying to tell me the manual 2009's get different MPG than 2011 she says the 2009 does better than 2011. The 2009 is a 5 speed and the 2011 is a 6 speed. I noticed EPA estimates are lower for manual. Is it true about the 2009? or do all the 2nd generation Tacoma manuals get worse MPG's??

If the '09 is a TRD sport then it has the 6 speed. At those prices the '11 is a no-brainer. Im surprised they aren't trying to make the '10 more appealing, considering it's a year old and an sr5.

x2. Of course I'm partial to the TRD Off-Road, but of the three, the '11 is without a doubt the best option, IMO.

I am aware Sport doesn't mean manual Whippersnapper. The 2009 is the only Manual of the 3.

And the interest rate is a good point!

I'd try to push them more on that 2010. They should be able to knock that down some.

The bad thing about the 2010 is that they ended their special Interest rates either today or yesterday. Not saying they can't work something out if you buy soon, but still something to consider. I obviously like the 2010, as I own one.

Agreed in general. But, if she can get a 2 year newer model and be the first owner (better for resale/trade-in) for less than 10% more, I can't help but see that as a better option.

She asked for opinions. For $2500 extra, NEW is worth it to me.

Actually that isn't what I said.

It says in the OP that she was told that the '09 is a 5 speed and the '11s come as 6 speed. I was explaining that was incorrect, because if the '09 is a TRD Sport then it has a v6, and if it has a v6 it is a 6spd, not a 5spd.

If the 2011 DC Sport is a short box that is a decent deal at $29,700-, recently purchased our 2011 DC Sport LB JBL/BT for $30,300-...go new, we got 72 months for 3.49% B OF A...good luck...

I actually got em down to $29,400 on the 2011 but I think he won't go any lower. From what you guys are saying it seems like a good deal. Now I just have to decide if I wanna go used or take the 2011.
I just spotted a 2007 certified 4x4 double cab, short box, sr5, listed for $22,888 and I usually don't see them certified for that low. It has about 44,000 miles.

Buy the 2011...you're apples to oranges on a 07 SR5 compared to a 11 TRD Sport DC SB...$29,400- is a decent deal...you are looking at an auto or 6 spd manual??

    No...Bank of America

I'm old and have a high beacon score...no mortgage or debt...banks are trying to be more competitve with the credit unions right now...Toyota Motor Credit has horrible rates on Tacomas, buy or lease...why??? They don't have to incentivize the Taco's, they sell regardless and have high consumer demand--

I guess I might have to go with my Credit Union then. I have a good score but its not considered "excellent"
