Was that an optimistic comparison? :p The new Supra performs better than the old one and also has great tuning headroom. 500 hp is achieved readily on pump gas by hogging out the stock turbo to fit a bigger compressor. 1000-hp builds are documented on Youtube within the first model year.
Yep, a lot of other people did just that, which is why the 4Runner continues to sell. I suspect the new Bronco will sell in good quantities just because it has 4 doors and a removable roof. The latter feature is more important than a solid front axle to most mass-market Jeep owners. It also would appeal to youngsters who don't care about the Bronco name, many born after the OJ Simpson chase.

What pisses me off is that Chevy released a bloated Nissan Murano lookalike and called it a Blazer...

When I heard that Chevy was coming out with all-new Blazer, I was expecting a Colorado-based sequel of sorts to the S-series Blazer, or a Silverado/Suburban-based retro-styled K5 remake!

Yes, I would actually buy this Bronco if I could afford it!

I don't dislike the Flex, but I'm not really that into it either; My personal trainer has one that she just paid off and she absolutely loves it.

Would you happen to know if the new Bronco is body-on-frame or unibody?

Did you ever see Daddy's Home? In that movie you get to see a Flex get creamed by an Indian motorcycle!

Now why can't they put a 5.0L V8 or even a diesel in it, and make a manual transmission available for those of us (like myself) who actually understand how to use the third pedal?

It's based off the ranger iirc.

Not sure what the baby bronco will be based on, might be in between the ecosport and escape, going up against the renegade, new trail Blazer, and whatever comes from Toyotas ft4x concept

Toyota needs to bring some of the foreign market Land Cruisers to America! The Aussies get to have all the fun!

Call your politicians to repeal the chicken tax and there might be a chance.

Or they could just build them stateside...

Also, I remember correctly, Toyota shipped trucks to America without the beds in the 1980s to avoid the chicken tax!

I thought the Chicken Tax applies to Pickups and Van's? A Landcruiser would not fall into that category .

    Ugh...

I got to drive one when I worked at the detail shop; Not a bad vehicle, but not one deserving of the Blazer name!

And there's another crossover coming out called the Trailblazer...

The 2002-2009 Trailblazer was a genuinely good SUV; This new thing is just another "cute ute" crossover!
