I always go to the one across the street from the jail outside Fremont, I forget what it's called. It's a parts hub and they're open Sundays.

Also, OEM radiator hoses - did you change it before?

 

I need to do my rad hoses too

No. When I ordered from camelback, the part I received (which checks out for my VIN) was exactly like the one I posted above. The hose on the truck didn't have a tapered end. Just trying to sort it out - why they look virtually identical but have different part numbers. Its the hose that is giving me problems.

It's the dealer you don't like, I can't remember their name.

The reason the radiator hose is different is because the absence of a transmission cooler on the manual model.

If it's something specific, like the PCV vent hose, I go OEM because they're pre-formed. You can't get most of those aftermarket.

Then you're fine. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Worry about it then.

It's a radiator hose, not something extremely specific like a computer module. If it fits, you are fine.

 

Yeah I have a list running in my head of stuff thats ok to not go OEM on. Preformed vacuum hoses like you said get bought at the dealer. But radiator hoses? Napa. Clamps would be the oem spring type though. Balljoints=oem, but tie rods and sway bar links get aftermarket.

 

Youre way overthinking this. Just run to Napa and get one there.

It's why that Nissan is tough to work on, everything is NLA. The window seals behind the mirror leak badly because the rubber is dry rotted, and there's a small company who made the tooling and is making them from scratch.

When I pulled the intake plenum off the parts car, some of the rubber hoses were so dry rotted they shattered like glass. It was crazy.

 

its ok bud. you weren't here to read my earlier posts. point is, the hose that shows is correct for my VIN which is the one I received from camelback when I replaced them last year was different than the original which had been on the truck since 02. It had the tapered end the original did not. Just trying to understand the reason for the different part #s when they appear identical. The one I have on there now is the one im having leaking issues with.

No big deal just trying to compare. its probably just the clamp. Contrary to popular belief, those constant tension clamps do weaken over time.

 

If I wanted a napa hose I would've. Thanks though.
