does anyone in this thread have a picture of your lift with the OEM rim and tires still on it? Trying to see if it looks totally ridiculous to not upgrade tires yet.

Yeah, it don't think it looks too bad. Just looks like the truck is lifted more when the tires aren't filling up as much of the wheel well.

Mine I posted 1 page back are a size up on tires, not the factory size. 265/75's

I got about 3" of lift out of these springs, they might settle after some miles though.

Is anyone running the 221 shocks with 314 springs upfront with a slimline bumper & winch... if so, are you able to maintain at least 2 inches of lift? I know the website states it should still provide 2 inches of lift with up to 110lbs but just looking for real world #s after the suspension settles.

Just installed my Dobinson 302 coils on 5100’s on my 3rd gen. First post says 1.6” of lift, I only gained .75” on passenger side and .5” on driver side. Any thoughts @Crikeymike ?

Got started on the rears last week! 110R leaf pack with shocks. Feels good to get the flimsy little yellow shocks out of there.

Install was pretty easy, no major issues getting the centering pin in the axle like some have mentioned. Biggest setback was figuring out the shackle bushings...sacrificed a couple of drill bits to get the old rubber out of there. Once the rubber was out, I found the Dobinsons bushings didn't fit. Stumped, I came back to TW and found that the shackles had metal sleeves that looked like they were a part of the shackle but weren't. 15 min with a hammer and chisel later, the new bushings slipped right in.

Up next, red 302 coils on black 220 struts! Pretty excited to get these mounted, it was a long wait for the red coils to sail the pacific and make it back in stock. That said, they were neatly packaged and shrink wrapped, however I noticed a few big chips and flaking in the powder coat on both coils as well as unpainted areas from whatever was holding them during the painting process...a little disappointed but nothing a couple coats of semi-matched red spray paint won't fix :notsure:

That's not consistent with everyone else. Can you post up photos of the setup so that we can see if anything seems out of place? Also can you check the white label that came on the coils to verify the part number?

I had another member message me stating that he ran into the same issue. He was thinking maybe it was because we both have a long bed. And a long bed possibly doesn’t yield the same net lift that a short bed would. Not sure though.

    Hey Guys

For the month of February 2020, Dobinsons is running a free Air Compressor deal with a full suspension kit purchase. While stock lasts. Here are the details.

Purchase a full Dobinsons suspension with twin tube struts and shocks, and receive an AC80-3808 Air Compressor free with your order. $145 value
    https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...ressor-kit-with-bag-hose-and-gauge-ac80-3808/

Purchase a full Dobinsons suspension with new Monotube (resi or non-resi IMS) struts and shocks, and receive an AC80-3846 Dobinsons Zenith Air Compressor. $325 value
    https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...ressor-kit-with-bag-hose-and-gauge-ac80-3846/

The free item will automatically be added to your order, no coupons or anything required.

Regarding the IMS (non-resi) and MRA (3-way adjustabl w/resi), ETA's are variable on those products, so your order won't ship right away, but you'll still get the deal. You will be emailed an ETA when the order is placed, or can ask up front.

Damn, i literally just ordered my complete kit from mainline overland earlier this week. Wish i would have seen this promotion. Oh well, the kit showed up yesterday and looks awesome and josh at mainline was super helpful in getting me squared away. Hoping to get everything installed this weekend.

What is the torque spec for Dobinsons UB59-453-2K U-Bolt?

Just updated the full kit pages so that you can select from Twin Tube, IMS (internal reservoir, no adjustment monotubes) or MRA (3-way adjustable with external reservoir) in the drop down menus. Not long until these come in!!

Full kit with quick ride kit (blocks, not full leaf pack: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-lift-kit-toyota-tacoma-2016-2020-with-quick-ride-rear/

Full kit with full rear leaf pack replacement: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...-kit-for-2005-to-2020-tacoma-4x4-double-cabs/

Well the front went on last week! 302 coils on extended travel 220 struts. With the help of some youtube videos, and the maintenance manual available here on tw, install went pretty smoothly. The biggest issue for me was loosening the driver side top plate nut. A lesson learned from the rear shocks was that the flat part on the shaft bolt strips pretty easily, so I placed it upside down in the vise and after trying multiple ways to loosen the nut, eventually the bolt itself just sheered off. Out came the grinder, and a few minutes later, she was free. A little bit of a bummer as I was hoping to sell the shocks, but not much one can do there. In hindsight, buying new top hats would have saved considerable trouble there.

Some points after a week of driving on-road:

    1. Ride is firmer than stock, especially in the front. I'm almost inclined to say that the rear (110R medium duty) seems to ride the same if not only slightly firmer than stock. Anyway, small bumps are now a quick, short hit vs an long float on the stock suspension. On the other hand, bigger bumps at speed seem to get eaten up, and no more hitting the bump stops on the railroad tracks.
    2. I've found the steering to be a little more prone to wandering, even after alignment. Though post winter roads and lack of significant caster from the stock UCAs definitely don't help either...
    3. Height wise, I'm quite disappointed. After install, ground to fender at the front was 38in, rear at 38.5in which netted me 2.75in up front and 2in in the rear. Perfect. This week I was looking at the truck and thought to myself, it doesn't look like a lifted Taco. Sure enough, measuring the front again now I'm at 37in. That leaves me with 1.5in lift, for a coil and strut setup that's advertised at 2.5in. At the rear, ground to fender is now 37.75in which nets just 1.25in. Reading through the thread, I see there were two members that also have had height issues with the 302 coils as well as some with issues with under-performing leafs.
    4. On the note of quality, the parts seem solid and well built, however it appears that my coils might have missed quality control at the paint shop. You can see in the pictures one of the coils has some scuffing, which I'm assuming is due to rubbing on its mate during shipping. However, on the flat end of both coils, there were spots of bare metal about the size of a nickel, one of which was conveniently covered by the product sticker. I'm assuming these are from whatever was holding them during painting. Unfortunately you can't just make a trip to the store for a quick exchange, especially when your truck is legless and 2 ft in the air. A rattle can of semi-matched paint will have to suffice, though even at this price point it seems quite amateur.

TLDR: a comfortable riding suspension for a great price, with a couple color selections to make it stand out. However, be prepared for parts lacking quality control and to be significantly under the claimed ride heights.
