Plastic peice inside center console

Can someone please tell me what the purpose of the plastic peice on the under side of the center console arm rest is for?

Pen holder.

 

I'm assuming you are referring to the pen clip that everyone seems to ask about?

No worries, it pops up from time to time, so I figured it was the pen thing.

You mean the emergency brake? SO much better having the e-brake handle vs on the floor.

 

yes, you can control it by holding the button down. on the floor it clicks into place when you press it and stays there. fine if you are just parking it but in true emergency i don't want the rear brakes locked up unless i can unlock them by releasing the handle slightly. i have tried it a couple of times when moving just to test it out and it sure locks up both wheels.

 

My 2017 civic Si had an electronic ebrake, a button. Talk about useless.
