Yeah, room on that one. Buying and selling a 1-3 year old Tacoma is tricky for both parties, but mostly the buyer. I may revisit but the best I could do in the bay area, CA was 37k for a 39.5K 2020 4x4 TRD OR they had on the lot. This was in late December tho. Maybe things are different. Brushed off the dealer call back a week later because he wouldn't commit to my price over the phone..

Cali is always rough especially with a mid cycle refresh in play just showing up. I don't think you did bad given the time/place. Have bought enough of them and watched enough price threads to say most will get 10-12% off MSRP before the dealer tells you to pound sand.

I think my version of well equipped is different ;) Things like 4x4, TRD, tech package etc over the base or SR models. Also keep in mind my post below where I was only able to get them down to 37k for the 2020. Looking at the 33k TRD in TW marketplace, say it was local and I was able to get it for 31.5k, then that is a significant difference for slightly used and no LED lights.

Sad part is my 2011 can outdo a 2020 with all the bells and whistles.
I even have a huge space for an 85lb lab to chill safely while I rock crawl.
And I've only dumped about 8k in it so far.
I can also go to the mall and not get door dings and such.
And I garantee my ride is way smoother.

Don't get me wrong though to each their own,
I get the whole new vehicle thing been there done that....never again.

    So lazy and plush options.
Why not just get a BMW, you can go faster and have a more comfortable ride.
I mean let's face it if you spend 50k on a Tacoma my guess is your not crawling on any rocks.
If you are I give you props:bowdown:

But more likely your driving on dirt roads, which you can do with a BMW way faster and more comfy:rofl:

Yep, that’s where I’m at. I have a 2006 I still love to drive. 115k, OME lift, KO2s, CarPlay deck, done all maintenance faithfully. I know the truck inside and out and know it’s a keeper. Walked away thinking I’d be spending all this money for a cosmetic upgrade.

And then the Tundra rumors got on my radar...

I aint touching that one here, thats a politics type debate, everyone in the 3rd gen TW section will tell you you have to have a lifted TRD OR with fancy wheels or Pro and that they all need that for their "overlanding" and "off roading".

Have you shopped around? There are plenty of dealers around me (LA County) with at least 10% off MSRP w/ little negotiation. I just started to shop around and that's what I'm getting from dealers online. I would shoot for 12-15% off. and if you can wait, wait until end of march (first quarter).

    West is best !
    Vehicle:
    2024 Tundra Terra (terror) Pro
PPF Front grill, bumpers and headlights.
Indeed ! No other trucks really hold value like the Tacoma. I traded in a Tundra with only 7 k miles and lost about 10 grand. While my 14 Taco after 3yrs and around 40 k miles only lost 2 grand. Don't get me started on the Nissan Titan ... good truck and no problems but their value drops like a rock.

I have tried but it seems nobody wants to move down enough. I’m going to hang off until the end of march

Try Carson Toyota. Not sure if % off you're getting is via online or by walking into a dealership, but generally if dealer thinks you're serious enough to get one, it probably will give you extra 1 - 2% off. It worked out for me a few times. Try going in during the weekday rather than weekend when not busy. (Edit: I would work with a volume dealer on this and not a small dealership with little inventory)

Or shoot them an e-mail with your offer and use the lowest you got to send to other dealers to beat that price. You will almost always find a dealer that will beat it or if they tell you to beat it, you have the best deal in your town in Jan 2020. Then feel good about it and enjoy.

Lastly, use auto brokers. Many have pre-negotiated pricing.

Corporate vehicles are usually beat to hell. Personally, I'd never buy a fleet vehicle of any kind. At the end of the day, this is all about preferences. You're not any smarter than anyone else just because you bought a used truck. People should spend their own money on whatever truck they prefer.

I said this later on and completely agree blow your money however you want to.
But like I said I research and mine wasn't a fleet vehicle, it was a runner.
I looked up the company and talked to who I needed to.
Typical small CO used it for errands for 6+ years then traded for new.
    6+ years only 48k miles.
People who assume are not to bright.
Try getting facts before you open your mouth, might make you look better:thumbsup:
