You could crimp an un-insulated male terminal on the wire going to pin 5 and wedge it next to the relay pin, then a dab of silicone glue then zip tie (mini kind) to the wires there. Pull the wires to the diode connector through the holes of the missing relay below the DRL relay. Run the one wire out to the grill lights.

that's the plan! the diode looks tiny! especially compared to two relays!

You could also just hide it below. Zipped in place. There's a way to remove the fuse panel where the headlight fuses are so you could hide an inline fuse, but you got a way new Taco...

I sometimes use Diodes for "extra" insurance in low-risk situations. But I don't trust them in higher risk situations. That's why I gave you the option of the 2 relays. Using interposing relays is an old-school trick for keeping different circuits isolated.

If you do it underneath then you won't need the add-a-fuse. Just 2 fuse holders.

Will do! I will get connector and diode fast, but female terminals might take a week or so! Once I get everything I will try my best to do this lol

So the way I wired mine up, they work exactly like you want them to (on with DRLs only, on with headlights, off with switch off)... but there is one downside. My DRLs don't dim when the headlights are turned on. Normally the DRLs will dim once the headlights turn on, but mine remain at full brightness.

I wired them up based on this video as that is all I found when I was researching installation ideas.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRbzCK66oko

I basically tapped into a harness that had a green, pink, and black/white wire (around 7:25 in the video above). I tapped into the green and pink wires. Besides the DRLs not dimming with the headlights on, are there any downsides to having them wired up this way?

When I did that for some reason my parking lights stayed on all the time even during the day.

BY connecting the Grill lights to both Green n Pink on the DRL harness you are "mating" the circuits, thus providing power to the Parking/Tail circuit while DRL is ON. When headlamps are selected, DRL turns OFF, but stays ON because it gets power via the Parking/Tail circuit which is the Grill Lamps join.

If you use a 3 way diode or a dual relay, you prevent each circuit from feeding each other. But that would mean cutting into the harness or another method...
