Anyone run chains on their Tacoma in the heavy white stuff? Planning an ice fishing trip to Canada and thinking of getting some JIC. Never run chains and curious if there are some hard and fast rules on using them.

Take the tires off and run just the rims on the ice. It will steer amazing.

    I’m only joking.
Chains on the rear will likely help with traction. For snow it just depends on preference. In snow I don’t run chains usually because it’s just more of a hassle than necessary. I can imagine on ice it’s not so bad if you drive slow and keep the torque low.

I think the Owners manual talks about chains. Rear only.

I bought these for my Taco QG3210 Quik Grip Wide Base Type DH LT Tire Chains, I haven't used them yet, but they fit perfect on the OEM tires.

I use to sell them in my auto parts stores, get the chain tensioners to reduce risk of them coming off and tearing up the sides of your Tacoma.

Where are you leaving from? My mom's from Kenora, I’ve spent a lot of time up there. My grandparents moved to Keewatin at some point, used to spend weeks down lake on the houseboat...good times.

I run 17inch wheels, with your OR is 16inch you'd need to look for the correct model number from their website.

I had to use them in the mountains this winter due to conditions at one point and highway patrol required chains on all vehicles. Always have use SCC Super Z cables. They are insanely easy to install and take off. Had them on my 265/75/16 tires with no issues.
