    The 400 series is slightly magnetic while the 300 series in much less so. I worked at a university where a geologist was measuring the residual magnetism in rocks. Her end goal was to prove/confirm plate tectonics. She made a lot of enemies that wanted to discredit her. She said that her instrument could detect magnetism in a credit card (before they had magnetic strips; do you remember those?).

    Ahh, you hit the beach today. Was wondering were you found a clear spot to detect.
    So, you can tell where folks have been hanging out in relation to the water level by the trash they leave behind? Cool.

    Yep! It was actually picking up through the snow! About 3" snow! I had a good ping under ice even but couldnt get to it

    I'm sure you will be back there after it thaws out.

    I was thinking earlier. I have the shovel and trowel I posted pic's of. I prolly use the shovel 80-90% of the time compared to the trowel. FYI.

    Does anyone know how long Owens had been making 22 shells. I had found 3 about 10’ from a grinding rock I found by accident.
