you actually going to use it?
One of my parameters when i bought my OR was the locker. I have yet to actually use it, other than couple times a year to see if it still works.

If your truck does not have the diff lock option, you have to get one installed.

IF your truck has no locker first you will need to figure your budget and learn and choose what type of locker you want. Some great YouTube videos on this. E, Air, mechanical, Detroit, Lunch box, Torsen, etc

Also you may want to think about a front locker.

The rear locker only works in 4L correct?

No. An aftermarket locker can be used in any mode.

Now that said - some gens and Toyota e-locker may only be engaged(used) in 4L (wired that way).

Toyota wired the rear elocker locker on TRD OR 4x4s to only engage when in 4lo....for 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens

1st and 2nd gens can do a wiring mod to allow the locker to be used on 2wd or 4hi...but to my knowledge no one's figured that out yet for 3rd gens.

Lots of guys have reported good luck with TrueTrac LSD.
Although not a “true push button locker”. They are about as good as it get for LSD.
And is bit less expensive and extensive to install than a Locker.

I know you are wanting a True Locker.
But I’m just throwing a different option out there.

BTW, I have the factory locker.
I rarely use it. I’d use a LSD more. I’m spinning one wheel unless locked.
Later years had Electronically Brake Actuated LSD.
    But not 2005-2009 IIRC?

Ya the early 2nd gen Sports (2005 - 2008) had a true mechanical LSD. After 08 they no longer came with one, instead it's an electronic brake feature that mimics the action of an LSD

Edit - maybe it was 2009 that was the last year, I can never remember

LSDs are ideal for better street traction, lockers are more ideal for offroad traction. If you prefer better street performance with some added offroad ability, an LSD is a good way to go.

Lockers you don't want to engage on the street unless maybe you're doing a brake launch and trying to smoke your rear tires
