What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Haven't updated in a while so here's what I've done since late November

AJT climate knobs, shifter, and emergency red 4x4 knob to match the key fob



KC flex single spot pattern pods with optional red bezels (cuz I have to match the truck duh) and caliraised fog light brackets w/ 3x2 amber pods


TC bed stiffeners, mobtown tailgate reinforcement plate (still waiting on cap) and cover for hi lift to keep the rattle down


Last but not least, a mint ARE camper shell with Yakima racks included. $600 on craigslist plus traded the guy my tonneau and my old stock rear shocks.

Pretty happy with how she's sitting but definitely have more in store

That explains why the 3rd gens have a weatherstrip between the cab and bed. A lot of wind must blow through there.

Thanks man! Got lucky when I found this one, 2016 was sitting on craigslist down in Fremont for like a month with no bites! Belonged to an old lady who used it to get groceries and pick up her grandkids from school. Obviously it was stock then and at 10 years old only had 67k on the odometer.

 

Damn. I looked for about a year for my perfect truck 2015 Accesscab trd sport with a 6 speed in red, with as low miles as I could find. But the truck I bought was the best thing I found in that time. I still look from time to time, but it's nice having a paid off truck

 

I looked for an exact model with exact options once and I found it. It took me about 3 months. I bought it at first sight. It was the biggest POS I've ever owned. I happily sold it for a third of what I had in it just to get it away from me and my wallet.

 

Decided to change the side view mirror amber turn signal to white. It was the last bit of amber that I had on my truck. Luckily front white turn signals are legal in cali! Sorry for pic quality.

 

Got rid of the OEM plastic running boards and installed these today. Mods on these trucks are never ending. Because of the drop steps, my 5’-3” tall wife has no problem getting in and out of my truck now.

 

You lucky SOB. I’m jealous. I’ve been looking for a black topper for my Tacoma the last year and haven’t been able to find anything. Finally bought an Undercover plastic hard shell from a guy off CL for $200.

They charged me $65 in labor to install it, but I also had them do a clutch job, so they were already in there.

Got the rails trimmed up and mounted. I had to use a Dremel so there's a little chop but it lines up great. Now to assemble my Prinsu and get all my stuff back on.

 

I went to an industrial park that has a loop on a saturday. no one was around, I just ran laps for a few min.
