Does anyone know of a local person/shop that is an “expert”, when it comes to suspensions on Tacoma’s?

I don't know about expert, but the boys at Cruiser Outfitters are pretty damn smart with Toyotas. However, what Gunshot said, what are you looking for? There's a lot of smart guys around here.

I mean the fact that half the shop goes down to support Monica when it races the 1000, they know a lot about a lot.

Mostly, I just want to go over what I’m currently running and see what can be done, if anything, to improve it.

Also, my ass end has started to sag. I know I have a lot of weight back there, but what so I do about it. Would Hammer Hangers for example help? Mostly just ask a lot of questions, then decide what to do.

I think hammer hangars would stiffen up the back end, but I don't think you'd really gain anything from it. The travel would be more quality, but if you are stressing your leaf springs, you're stressing your leafs. Maybe a new spring pack like deavers, etc are in order. @blackout14 also offers some good spring packs that were very competitive with the cost of Dakars and were a little more stout as I recall.

Getting your valving right in your shocks is the most important part of suspension. I've had everything from stock up to full blown long travel setups and the setups that gave the best ride where those where I was given recommendations on valving from those who had already figured it out and went that route.

Looks like I need my rotors resurfaced... My buddy who usually lets me use his tools is pissed off at me and is MIA.. so looks like I'll need to head to a shop. Any recs? @Gunshot-6A you said you usually go to the one on 106th and 13th?

All this is good. This is why I would like talk to a person who has experience with Tacoma's and knows the in's and out's. I have a pretty decent set up already, but it's likely not as tuned as it could be. The tuning part is what I need advice on. I have the Deaver U402 Exp II's as it sits. But, from the front of the bed to the back, it drops about an inch. I assume because the spare, the steel bumper and gas cans are adding a ton of weight that's causing it to sag.

Ultimately, I would just like to get it all dialed in to take advantage of what I have.

Do you have a shop recommendation to do the whole job? ..... I, unfortunately, don't have the proper tools yet.

Whether your truck has rake or whether it sags in the back won't be changed by tuning the shocks. To bring the rear end up you are either going to have to jump up to the stage 3 deavers to support more weight, bring the front down by having less preload or lighter coils, or put the rear end of the truck on a diet.

What is your front suspension like right now?

All things brakes and tires I go see the boys at Big O on 90th S and 7th E. If you find Corey Sanders (Shorter guy, big smile, half a can of pomade in his dark hair) he's your man. Tall blonde dude named Shane can take care of you just as well.

Do you just need the fronts done? If so, take your rotors to parts connection, and swap the pads yourself. Tons of youtube videos on how to do it with basic hand tools.

    Correct!

In my view, and this is worth as much as the paper it isn't printed on: You aren't at the stage where valving, etc should be the focus. I think you are on the beef it up or slim it down bunny slope still. Once you have it where you are "normal" stanced, then go talk to someone about the shock actuation. Can't build a house if your foundation is sagging. The valving you'd need on these springs is gonna be different than on thicker springs anyways, so other than theory, I'm not sure it'd help you that much at this stage anyways.

When you say "what is your front suspension like right now" I assume you mean how's it preloaded? If so, it's cranked up pretty good. I don't recall the exact stats off the top of my head, but it could probably be lowered some, since it's settled out, which is why I'm looking for a knowledgeable person to look it over and tell me their thoughts.

The fronts are King 25001-119A with 700# coils, if that's what you're asking.

If I missed what you're asking, let me know.

My plan is to do the valving, when it comes time to rebuild them. Unless someone can show me that it would be beneficial to do it sooner. I do have the adjusters, but honestly I don't notice much difference between softer and harder.

I've had 700# coils on my setups and have never had to add any preload to maintain 2-3" of lift even with full skids, sliders, steel bumper, winch, etc. I'd start by taking out most of the preload. You will likely free up some travel and your truck will sit closer to level.

With my current long travel setup I actually have some 650# coils I am going to move down too because the 700s are a little to stiff with the different leverage angles of the longer arms.
