    I am looking to do new speakers in my 09 Taco. I have seen several videos for the installation and it seems pretty straight forward. However, when it comes to the tweeter install, I can only find one video for the 2nd gen Tacoma and it is pretty lengthy with a lot of cutting of wires and other modifications to make it work. Does anyone know of a pretty simple plug and play kit or easy way to swap out the tweeters?

    What exactly do you need help with? I installed some Image Dynamics tweeters in my '14 (along with everything else besides a new head unit). From what I remember, and i'll have to double check, besides custom making a bezel so the new tweeter would fit in the OEM location I think it was pretty plug n' play. Like I may have had to buy a wiring connector to mate the Toyota connection to the Image Dynamics tweeter connection.

    Basically in the 2 videos I can find for the 2nd gen Tacoma tweeter install, they are having to splice wires or damage/modify the wire connectors to fit the one for the tweeter, etc. I just want something that comes with the right size mount and the right size connecting harness so I can just plug in and mount without having to modify anything.

    I think I bought Metra connecting harnesses. Let me look (and you search too), but either I made a thread or I posted a ton of pictures to an existing thread here for the stereo install. Sorry I did it like 4 years ago so my memory is slipping.

    OP if you are looking to just swap out the tweeters it super easy....

    Buy the adapters above and OEM tweeter adaptors, pull the door card, unplug harness, remove tweeters, install adapters, mount new tweeters, use wire adapters to connect tweeters, install door card, done.

    No need to splice if you get an install kit. You may need a mount although you can reuse your current tweeter mount by removing the speaker parts from it

    Search for the Subaru tweeter swap if you dont want to cut 2 wires....
    I think it's a plug and play swap. I just cant justify buying stock Suby speakers vs. crimping a couple of wire for the audio components I prefer.

    When I installed my aftermarket tweeters, I just cut and soldered the new in. I know it's not what you're asking, but the process was pretty straightforward. I have no need to go back to stock tweeters, but I could solder them back in if need be. To me, this was faster and easier than the Subaru tweeter install.
    Crutchfield didn't seem to have a plug and play harness for the tweeters last I checked.
