I have a sister but we aren't very close. She and my mom are codependent attached at the hip

This will sound harsh but I think it has to do with being insecure on their own and needing external validation to be OK with themselves

How many healthy, well adjusted people are out there collecting followers and trying to be an "influencer"?

    Nice.

Yeah all I'll do is stream on a tv and pc, or music. No need to go super high speed.

Yesterday I had some fun doing some Bounty Hunter shit on Watchdogs 2 (PS4).

You know, it's not as bad as some people think...not being close to your siblings that is.

I take it you 2 grew up separately from each other?

It stems from my moms hate for my dad, as well as her own.

My mom struggled when my parents split up and I got kicked out at a young age myself. My sister always held it against me as if I "abandoned" them just like my dad.

I've been independent since I was 15; she hasn't been able to figure shit out on her own so even at 24-25, she depends on our mom for everything.

It didn't help when I left for the military; my sister said I completely forgot about my family when all I was doing was trying to better my own self.

I dunno if I should feel proud or disgusted

Lol my dog does that when she drinks water way too fast and way too much; it's more of a burp though and either water comes out or it doesn't.

I haven't seen my cat at the apartment btw....kind of miss it

Hopefully she made it back home...outdoor cats in my area become coyote snacks in short order usually, I bet up in your area even more so

Ah that's right, getting kicked out must have been brutal. My sister is exactly the same way; she needs our mom to do just about everything for her. It sounds like your sister wasn't secure enough to not take it personally when you enlisted even though it wasn't about her at all. (That I understand). Sucks that she is in that position. Maybe the maturity and awareness will come with age.

My dad was pretty much always away for work and my mom and sister were always in codependent shouting matches - makeup cycles so I started to distance myself and become more independent as a kid. It's gross but they are pretty much reliant on one another to regulate each others emotions because they can't take care of themselves in that way.

Plus I was "the man of the house" so I had to take care of shit that neither of my parents did. When my dad was home he was usually "too busy" and my mom was always preoccupied with taking care of my needy sister so it was really a fend for myself type of thing.

It's taken a long time to really mature enough to be emotionally independent and not fall into the codependent enmeshed family trap. That's also how I ended up with such a psychotic ex; I thought her behavior was fine because it fell into the mold that they laid out for me

What sucked most about that is feeling blamed, as a teenager, for the crap between your own parents.

I remember my mom and dad arguing over the phone every other day, arguing about custody, and how she was crying every time she got off the phone. Being the oldest, I was pretty much the scapegoat and was treated way different than my younger siblings.

That sucked for years but it's really made me a much better, and stronger person in the end. Some of that shit never goes away though...

Being a military brat, my dad was always out as well. It was mainly because he was on deployment, being an infantry soldier.

Each time he'd come back, he was a bit more distant. Drank and smoked a lot, I'm talking 2 packs a day of Marlboro reds.

He did try to connect with me but by forcing me into every other sport you could think of; baseball, soccer, football, even martial arts and boxing. Only thing I stuck with was boxing and kick boxing which I got good at.

After the split and all, my mom and sister were just like your own mom and sister. Took my mom quite some time to become independent all over again, but my sister never picked up on it.

All she does is work a minimum wage job and smoke weed all day every day. She has no desire to become anything or do better for herself and it doesn't help that she's got a low life piece of crap boyfriend she's still with.

This is the same guy who's house I went into and threatened because my brother had told me that he was physically abusive with her at one point.

The shit we do for family huh?
