    Hey Folks,

I am planning on adding more usb plug and a front camera switch on my lower switch panel unfortunately mine doesn’t have those blank tabs. I found out Meso custom makes just the panel, And i just wanted to know if do i need to take off the whole panel(driver and passenger side) or just the head unit and just kind of pried it out the oem lower
panel? Also, does the oem lower
    panel pop out? or
is it the entire piece? Any feedback or suggestions will greatly appreciated,

    Thank,
    J

One big note is that the OEM panel is molded into the large surround piece. It does not come out on its own.

That said, I (and a few others) did cut out the OEM panel and bond in the @MESO panel without removing it. It was about 1.5hrs of work and careful use of a utility knife.

@tonered Thank bro! Now i’m worried that i might cut some wiring while doing that. How did you bond the aftermarket panel and what did you use?

    You're welcome!

With the Head Unit and HVAC panel out, you can feel for any wires behind the switch panel. For lower optioned Tacos, there are some bundle connectors stowed in slots at the bottom of the panels. You can easily move them all out of the way. So, no fear there.

There is a really good thread about this. Mainly you carefully carve out an opening that is smaller than the @MESO LSP and carefully shave the opening until it fits just right. I used JB Quik Weld epoxy to hold it in place. It worked perfectly.

Just as an FYI, here's the hard method:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/installing-mesojdms-custom-lower-switch-panel.539029/

You will see that a couple folks commented in there about doing it the easy way.

I can't find the easy method thread.

    Edit: Here's one:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/lower-panel-switches-under-ac-knobs.592779/#post-19833776

Note! That is for an LSP8 with a rectangular switch on the far right. If you are using the LSP7 and keeping the round power port, DO NOT cut out the existing material to the right of the last rectangular switch location.

This is great brother i’ll be sure to check the threads and see what other folks decided to do on their truck. I will be doing the LSP7 and keeping the cigarette port, thanks for the heads up i’ll make sure to remember not to cut that. BTW you did an awesome job on your panel looks clean.

    Thanks!

I was really happy how it all turned out. It is a really nice part and the switches and blanks fit perfectly.

It did take me a few months after getting the panel to finally hit it with a knife.

I'm looking at getting some ditch lights and I guess installing the 7 position one.
Any chance you have a link for that or was it already posted below?

I didn’t see the part on your site or in the instructional pages.

Anyone know if they make a split switch so you get two switches per slot?

Afaik, he only makes the 7 pos and dash panels once in a while when he opens up production for that product.

An easier route is replace the cubby to left of steering wheel with a 3 pos (caliraised, etc) but the switches stick out a bit. This one below is a two pos (one small, one tall) and they sit almost flush.

Yeah, I'm still holding on to mine. Switch pro kinda made that spot useless for me :(. I should probably sell it

I like the idea of the Switch Pro. Although, I'm still struggling to fill up the LSP7. I gotta a blank in there, the Light Bar switch is a lie at this point (better storage spot than a garage shelf), and after spending extra on the AOB matching blue illumination color, the damn things aren't even hooked up. LoL!

That said, stabbing at the 2LM or anytime rear is spot on as are the USB power on each end.

If I was doing it today, I'd definitely go with the LSP8 because I replaced the stock round power port anyway.
