They (cab to bed seals) are for noise reduction and drag. Prevents wind from coming around and getting in between the cab and bed.

Mike Sweers (Toyota Truck Engineering Genius  ) explains it starting at 5:15.

Does that seal encompass the entire bed/cab connected area? Sides, top and bottom?

It means the tracks on my Leer shell (Rhino) are the perfect height to mount the Prinsu and have it sit flush between the shell and cab racks.

Hmmm. I bet I can rig up something similar on mine. Especially since I removed the backseats and installed sound deadening. Every little bit helps.

No link just something I did...figure out what ya want the window to look like, paper pattern, lay it out on the air box ( I removed the box to make it EZ)..drill out the corners and cut it with a jig saw..cut a window from 1/8 " plexiglass..I used make a gasket (I think) as a seal and then drilled out some small bolt holes,...Someone here has a real nice one, CNC a metal hold down etc, I don't have access to that kinda equipment, his is really sweet.....to be honest I just got tired of fighting with the damn thing to check the filter, run a snorkle and like to keep an eye on it.. White button is for a small led inside that I first installed, later removed..

    A few things to note:
    1. The mounting clip holes you see in the 3rd gen picture are pinch welds on our trucks, so we don't have the holes.
    2. The cab is flat on back but the bed part curves away from the gap. You would need something that attaches at an angle.
    3. Because the bed side is not flat, it may be hard to get a good contact for an adhesive strip.

I was originally thinking of trying a round pipe insulator and just jamming it in there. This would allow me to try out the idea without committing to anything.
Something like a pool noodle, but the good material. I just haven't tried it yet

My take on a second Gen solution: Whoever does this please post a How to.

    1. Measure the gap and order:
Extruded Rubber D-Strips from the below site

    https://www.minorrubber.com/d-strips.html
    [IMG]
    2. Attach double sided tape
    [IMG]

    3. Apply :)

Also, could use neoprene - lighter but probably won't last as long
