I have noticed that most people go off roading with the windows down. I can't imagine the amount of dust getting into the truck, in some pictures you can even see mud flying and the windows are still down.

The Tacoma has a very nice interior with plenty of fabric that can absorb the dust, not like Jeeps Wranglers that have more plastic and a more tough fabric on the seats.

I am curious on what people think about off roading with the windows down

Ive made the mistake of doing it once, i wont do it again.
It depends though ive been in very non dusty/slow moving areas off road where no dust at all flys up, no harm in having them down in that situation.

On trail I do, but for desert they are up. If there is mud they are up also. Only down goin slow. I dont care about dust in the truck, because it cleans out really easy.

I always off road with the windows down. But then again i spend time cleaning my interior when i get home. You gotta pay to play.

Plus if u wheel with the windows up, you need A/C, which puts strain on the engine. I actually wheel with the heater on full blast usually to help me engine.

You need other people to tell you what they think about this?
If it's dusty, put the window up. If it's not dusty, put it down. Very simple, no one wants dust in their truck, unless it's an all out off-road rig.

I wheel window down unless its
    -too cold (snow wheelin)
    -rainy with muddy trails

Wiping down and blowing out the dust doesnt bother me. I prefer to hear my truck and I like being able to lean out my window to see the trail/obstacles when need be.

Same here minus the snow part, lol. I roll the windows down because I often stick my head out the window and with the windows up I feel separated from the environment if that makes any sense.

Not only do I wheel with the windows down, but I hang my head out to watch the wheels go up and down... old jeeper habit I think.

I always roll them up for mud/water or if I'm following another rig.
