Oil Catch Can

Does anyone know where I can get an oil catch can for my 2016 Taco?
I live in Ontario Canada. I do not know which one to buy. Please help

This is the one I bought. Haven't got it installed yet however...

 

You should install it. It's one of the first things I did after I bought my brand new truck 4 years back.
I bought an L bracket from Home Depot and drilled a hole in the other end of the bracket. And then bought two screws of the right size and thread pitch and used the already existing threaded screw holes in the inside of the fender to mount mine.

These were original pictures from 4 years ago. Since then I relocated my oil catch can to my engine mount, as I installed an RTMR at that original location.
I keep a bottle in garage with the gunk/dirty oil I collect from this can. It's now full, and you should see it. I stopped collecting bad oil from the catch can after that. This little oil catch can paid for itself many many times over.

 

Really wish I installed one. Stuck intake valve from roasted on oil deposits killed my 4.0. It did have 260K though

 

Yeah 15k miles worth the oil and gunk

I don't think it's too late. It's not such an expensive mod you know. It's so well made, with precision machined Aluminum. All you need is the oil catch can. A rubber washer. A trip to home depot for some rubber tube and an L corner bracket.
I know people might have different opinion. I have a bottle full of black goo i have collected from my oil catch can as proof to give it to any of the nay sayers.
There is was a thread I read as I was going to buy my truck that got me interested in wanting to install one for mine.. Here. This one.
So after your engine swap, how many miles do you have on it now?

 

WARNING to those in cold climates:

I'm disconnecting during freezing temps as dip in hose or full can will block crankcase ventilation and blow seals??!!

Lots of water vapor and liquid vs. just oil

Is there another means of crankcase relieving pressure if this happens?

OEM hose setup is insulated and drains back as it's pitched and close to block

 

It condenses a tiny amount of oil vapor and larger amount of water that would otherwise be harmlessly burned in the engine.

 

Without the oil catch can your engine will run for 200,000 miles. With an oil catch can your engine will run for 200,001 miles.

 

IIRC about 2 yrs ago i looked into this (generally on this forum) and found that our (V6 any way) engines periodically spray fuel into the ports
for cleaning purposes, making the catch can unnecessary. can someone that really knows confirm or deny the details?

more importantly, with our exact engines which have this cleaning feature, is there any evidence the catch cans do anything the cleaning system does not?

 

Unlikely due to the fact that the engine produces heat.

 

Not necessary, our engines have d4s to clean the intake valves(that’s the weird intermittent tick you hear at idle). You only need an OCC on a VW/BMW/Chevy. Save your money, the taco doesn’t need it.

gonna keep it going in the summer
Yes, a GRFE does get fuel injected before intake as it's not direct injection, but not enough cleaning in my opinion as I saw 1st hand after disassembly
