@OVTune do you ever foresee offering installs of the Turbos/ programming at your shop? I’m not too far away and I would consider just bringing the truck down and paying for a professional install if it was available... not that I couldn’t do it in a weekend with a couple buddies but i see some value added in the job being completed by the experts.

Ok, consider me standing by. When you’re ready for a test on a Heavy Taco let me know. 5.29’s on 255 85 R16’s with a 1100lb Alu-Cab Camper... looking forward to this for sure! Keep up the good work!

Will you have a control test for towing? Even if they are separated by time to do the install? Or can you bypass the turbo manually with it installed or with some code magic?

CA has an 8 year abatement period now. 2024 is the first year that any 3rd gen needs to be tested.

Im sure you could figure something out by then.

I could do the same route towed with the wastegates disconnected, which wouldn't be "true" stock, but it would be no boost.
But lets get boost towing tested first.

It would be appreciated and helpful if those who have the SC Kit would share some pics and feedback for those of us interested and looking for user evaluations. Mat - could you encourage this from those who have or are purchasing the SC kit from you? TIA.

Sure, anyone who gets one is welcome to share.
The other 2 people that had a kit, 1 person is in the process of install, which should be done this weekend.
The other person who was suppose to ended up being unable to because he needed a larger truck.
And a big delay on our MAF housings, but that's a separate subject.

I only had 5. When URD posted the price of their setup, my interest in building a competing kit significantly dropped. So I went deep into turbos.
What I am trying to do now is offer the ones I have left, for anyone interest. Use them, test them out, provide your feedback, reviews, etc. If people really like them and are super interested we will make more.

Unlike last time requirement (must be MT..must be 2.0mb ecu) there is no specific truck requirements.

I hope you guys don't feel let down by it. From a business perspective, URDs $4999 SC is really moderately priced and while I'm not saying we won't make more, we really have to assess how well two rotten options will do.

    Convince me I'm wrong!

Impossible to do that. You’re the only man who knows what it will cost you. If you can sell a sc kit for 3,000 and make 400 profit minimum then great. However there’s only so many people going to buy them and you are not a major company. On the other hand, you have the chance to be the first to release a working twin turbo setup and offer free tuning. Nobody else is attempting to touch that it seems. Business wise you won’t be able to compete vs a major company as well as you could being the only source of a twin turbo kit.

You don’t need us for your decisions. Maybe if we help show gained interest to help you weigh options but if you’re on the fence about a product and it’s potential you’d most likely want to set up shop with an interest deposit. Sadly even those fall through. I say stick with what you have planned and see what you think you can do later on and compete with the other guys once you have your product out and available for purchase. Once money starts coming in and you see your profits and losses you can then decide as quickly as possible if you want to develop both products. Your name on tuning alone, personal opinion, doesn’t seem like it’ll be enough to compete with a larger company but that’s a risk you have to decide if it’s worth taking.

Anyway be nice one day to see the products come through. I’d advise to stop stating dates of all forms though just speaking from a consumer stand point. If I know something will take 3 months to get after purchase and I still purchase then I accept it. If you tell me it’ll be ready on June 5th and have to tell hundreds of people the same heartbreaking info like you have had to do with 2018+ handhelds then it could be detrimental to a potentially fast growing and highly profitable business venture.

Right, and this is why we are heavily invested into our TT setup. The power and performance for the price is just not going to be beat anywhere. I haven't posted any exact dates but I have been giving some update "this week" or "next week" type of time frames just on the development side, although I may stop doing that as well...because pushing the power this far, we are finding and having to work around limitations (like the FPC).

Anyways without a doubt nothing is stopping our TT setup.
