My `03 rig has a "little" push button to the lower left of steering wheel, next to the dash light brightness control knob. I've never figured out what it was for. How does one know when it is engaged? All my dash gauges are white with orange lettering.

It would help to quote or tag someone to get back to you, in the event that you are talking to anyone specifically.

What does your button say anyway?

Does it say clutch cancel (manual transmission only) or does it say RR DIFF LOCK which in that case if it did, you would know that you had a rear locker.

The switch in this picture right next to the dimmer knob is the diff lock.

The switch on the left (closer to window) is to change the shift patern on an auto trans.

Forgot about that button; my Cressida had that as well. Always thought I was cool when I flipped it, then again it had a MK3 Supra motor (factory turbo).

There are no markings associated with the little push button in question. Can't feel any spring loaded tension position to determine if on or off. No dash light goes on or off with button pushed. It might be some kind of aftermarket doo-dad. I just had bunch of hack-job wiring removed to eliminate a few gremlins. New to the forum. Haven't figured it out yet.

Per the pic attached above . . . I believe my button is an aftermarket device, installed in the place where the factory button would have been. Thanks,

Shifts at a higher rpm; I've used it a few times.

It's just to keep you in the power band longer making it feel like you have more "power".

That's not factory. Was probably put there because that is a blank panel in the dash, that snaps in, when the vehicle is not equipped with a locker.

On a more serious note. That button looks like, and from your description, seems like some sort of momentary switch.

My wife's Chevy has one similar... the previous owner had it for an air horn.
