2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

I coast down from 6th all the time. Once I’ve slowed down, I’ll move to second and start again if I’m still rolling or drop to 1st if I stop completely

I’ll also skip gears when I accelerate. I suppose that’s not allowed either..

 

I double down and even triple down all the time when decelerating quickly. The rpms barely move when just dropping one gear. But hey, rules are rules

I like to drive this way, too.... Or however I want to in general. It depends on how the mood strikes me. That's the whole point of shifting your own gears, right? Do it your way.

Theres a huge differenc between a race car and a production line truck.

Race engines are typically blueprinted and balanced, the crank is usually knife edged to reduce drag through the oil and to reduce rotating mass and angular momentum allowing it to rev up and down quicker. Also race cars typically run a much lighter flywheel again contributing to quicker revs.

You cant really compare the two.

Kind of a weird question and I'm not sure if it's already been answered, but is there a way to double check using the flashing software to see what tune file is currently loaded on the truck?

 

Have you got some schwag in stock?

Stickers/ball caps?

That may placate me for a bit

 

That is the beauty of the tune. It is not detectable. So, all that you will ever see is the stock ECU ID.

No way to see that from the truck. I checked the logs from pcm flash and it tells you the last file flashed. Not sure if p5flash has that too
