I'm stealing that Bookers box piggy bank idea, thanks.

Anyone have experience with High West Prairie Bourbon? My local Target has a surprising amount of good brands in stock and saw this on their list.

This too is at my Local Target. I have a $35 giftcard and can't decide what to get with it.

There is a nice little gap between the box and acrylic for coins to fit right in. It's perfect!

I'm trying to get a little sign made that says "Support the Pour".

Adding to the Booker's, I just received this Euro release of what is known here as "Dot's Batch". It's the 2015-02 release. Really cool bottle!

Thought this snap came out great!

Still one of the best 40 dollar bottles you can get. Rare Breed and KCSB picks are value KINGS

    VERY cool picture.

That stuff really is a great value.

I'll join you with a pour here in a bit. Just picked up Slurpees with my girls for now.:D

Anybody in Utah? Would love to visit this distillery. I'm going to keep an eye out for the 2020 Bourye release, the previous version was very tasty!

Finally cracked one of my Scotch tater bottles

    20200124_195402.jpg

It's like the standard lineup Ardbeg An Oa, but with more sherry and more peat, and less brine, and likely with a little more age. I love An Oa and equate it to BBQ Ardbeg... lots of smoked meat notes to it (I need to replace the bottle I killed). This one is more like smoked fruits - cherry and plum mostly, with a finish of pure Islay peat goodness that wanders off to coffee and cocoa. Damn good finish for 46.5%. It's very good, but I shouldn't have given in to FOMO to get a few of these from overseas. The committee release version is 55%... and I'll wait to open that one another day.

For my palate I put this one somewhere between Ardbeg An Oa and Laphroaig 10 year old Cask Strength Batch 10. The flavor is intense, the alcohol is not, and the finish puts it ahead of An Oa for me.

I can't compare this one to Corryvrecken since it's a different beast entirely... but I wonder what would happen if I dumped a Corry into my finishing barrel... I bet it'd come out similar to this Dark Cove.

Finally got to try RVW (for $14!!!).

It was the first bourbon I’ve had that could compete with Wellers 12y.
