Economy is hot. Times will change. The pendelum always swings both ways. This " market adjustment" bs right now is exactly what I am referring to. Years ago it was called cash for clunkers to stimulate the economy. Today's it's called market adjustment because we are over stimulated.

Just make sure you buy a 4X4 if you want to retain value, because the 2WD resales suck big time

this is really true for all trucks. 4x4s hold value better than 4x2s.

One of the reasons I bought yet another Taco instead of a Tundra. I had a big ass 4x4 Silverado rental for a week while shopping my new truck and it was simply too much vehicle for my tastes. Lots of good things about it but not enough to sway me. It’s going to be hard to do after my experience. The Tacoma has become a bit of a guardian angel for our family.

When I bought mine new, it was literally cheaper than buying a used one at the time. Probably the area I live in, but still.. definitely not worried about depreciation.

I'm not looking for resale value on my truck. I love my truck. I'm going to drive it until the wheels fall off

Always remember, assets, dividends, and expenses have a normal debit balance. Everything else is a normal credit balance. Thats the only thing i learned in school lol. Everything for my job has been gained thru experience/projects.

I have noticed that over the last couple of years they seem to be depreciating quicker than they were when the 2017's first came out. Used 2016's at the time were going for the new price of the 2017 so it didn't make sense to buy used. Now as the the total number of trucks has increased the value isn't as close to new on the 2018/2019 compared to 2020.

I still think we'll all be in good shape considering the reputation these trucks have of holding their value.

Wheels falling off didn't stop the 1st gen folks, but you be you :p

2020 models had a $2k jump in sticker price to pay for the new electronic architecture (CarPlay/Android Auto, remote start from phone app, etc.) Should help keep used prices high.

I heard on here somewhere that the 2017 model actually increases in resale value every year because they haven’t had any recalls.
