What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Yeah I just got quotes from Malone... probably just gonna bite the bullet.

Seems to be the consensus. Might as well save myself some time and future headache.

 

Replaced all speakers and added an amp last year which made an amazing difference. Just replaced my head unit and now it sounds even more amazing.

 

The dealer near me has the Rav4 with TRD off road package. Its listed at like $37,800 something. I really do not know who in their right mind would spend that kinda money for that though.

 

Today I sent my Cali raised sliders for powder coating and ordered king front coilovers with 700 pound springs

 

-Power steering flush (I goofed and forgot you weren't supposed to turn the truck on, I sent a quart of ATF flying...)
-Powerstop pads/rotors
Brake flush/bleed (brakes still don't feel to my liking) doing the rears in a few days hopefully that helps
-Painted calipers black
-Air filter
-Added 2 more light tabs on the front bumper

 

Bleeding furthest from the cylinder moving to the closest will get them the best.

 

Decided to change the oil in the rear dif. Took longer to get everything out and put back up than it did to actually do it.

Pretty sure this is the 1st time it’s been changed unless they didn’t clean the magnet off when they did it. I got just a few slivers of metal and a piece that was from a drilled hole. Surely they would have cleaned it off but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t.

I’ll be doing the front dif and transfer case sometime this weekend and the trans after I get the clutch masters kit installed.

Got the new Steering rack in and toe adjusted. Ready to party again!

 

to get a proper brake flush you must do all four as mentioned about starting with the rear right, front right, rear left and finally front left. Making sure your reservoir never runs dry in the process.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I went with the textured finish and it very closely matches the other black trim. you can not tell it's a mod. The covers do give the bumper a slightly heavier look which I like.

I did several times, but the pedal still isn't super firm. I'm gonna do the rears tomorrow and see if that changes anything.

 

Have a chance to buy this shell for 1100. Is that a good decent price or should i try to get it for cheaper?

 

If it’s in good shape, that’s probably reasonable. If it’s color matched to yours, that is worth something so you don’t wait for the next time you stumble across another.
