Chicago traffic blows major chunks. So glad I don’t have to go there monthly any more

 

since that’s actually listed in the top 5 in the country, did you experience issues with rev hang?

 

As @iexc would say “death to rev hang”

it gets in the way. I’ve never driven another MT that does this.

 

My commute metro area is listed there.

I doubt those areas are as bad as Bay Area traffic.

I5->205->580->680 is a 80 mile parking lot that has steep inclines on 580 and 680.


I have stop-n-go from base of the altamount to the peak and that is both ways. the east coast metros don’t have these mountainous conditions on their commutes.

 

Having driven in both, Chicago is worse than the Bay Area IMO

 

It is a simple fact that most every city in the US has shitty traffic. When I think it is bad here, then I see some wild shit in Portland. I've seen stupid traffic in Vegas, Chicago, LA, Pittsburgh, you name it.

Folks outside of suburbia should just appreciate what they got.

 

Big city traffic is gross. Biggest problems here is one semi doing 60 mph and one doing 61 mph. Or a combine that takes up the road and then some because they refuse to take the head off

That's a big swing and a miss by Amazon. I've only had one or two fails one of which was getting nespresso pods instead of a graphics card, but that's a pretty big one. I'm thinking someone slapped the wrong shipping label on it.

 

You dont even understand traffic till youve driven around where im from. Around here we are born into traffic. I am molded and shaped by it, beaten down, tempered and hardened by it. My traffic is the worst the world has and will ever see and my suffering the greatest. Sweet summer child you have no idea what traffic is.

 

I grew up in the Bay Area and the traffic there is horrendous, no doubt. But I think El Paso's is worse because the current transportation infrastructure cannot effectively support the demand. I'm sure this is the case in most places though.

 

It's an unexplainable mess up on their part. Tracking number even matches the server on the site.

Bro, I feel for you. I hate the altamont with a passion. I used to run doubles in and out of Tracy, graveyard. Narrow lanes in a 73ft long rig. Fn traffic, stop n go at 4am. Some of the worst drivers in the nation. I'd see something like 2-3 bad wrecks a week on that route with at least 1 fatality a month. I quit that job and avoid that area like the clap

 

The bay area, particularly east bay, has gotten much worse in recent years because of the tech boom and the housing crisis. Far more people are commuting from way out into the city than ever before. I moved to rural ca and got on with a vineyard management outfit working backroads and couldn't be happier

 

Crazy software glitch i guess. Good deal though. Chewy did that with some dog food they sent me by my own fault. I forgot to cancel auto ship and called to ask how I could return it. They just said they would credit me and told me to keep it. I donated it to a local rescue.

 

from lathrop, CA to San Jose it is like this for 80 miles starting at 4am. like I said before, the areas in Fremont and Altamont are UPhill mountains.


80 miles and it’s just non-stop stop-n-go like picture below, plus it’s uphill. I have no problems in uphill stop-n-go traffic. I don’t what the issue is.

This isn’t going to show-up on some national list because the Central Valley isn’t a major metro-area and it’s not considered part of the Bay. Non-Californians won’t know about the Central Valley and how 100s of 1000s have moved here to actually survive working in the Bay.

For instance, Stockton was ranked in the top-ten most violent cities in the USA over Oakland. I doubt most people outside of NorCal have even heard of Stockton. There is just no real awareness of the 209 Central Valley at a national level.

 

Not sure how this turned into a pissing match about who has the worst traffic.

I’ve heard of Stockton and been there a couple times. I’ve also stayed in a few $400+ hotel rooms that are the size of a closet in the bay.
