    I distinctly remember the heat output being really awful on cold days, even with the temperature and fan on high.

    That's one way of putting it...

    It was June 1993 and it was warm; My dad goes to turn on the A/C, and the system blows a seal at the orifice tube...

    Purged itself of R-12 and vented a significant amount of into the cabin via the defogger vents! Luckily, it was a brand new truck so the dealer fixed it under warranty!

    On my Dads truck the paint was falling off in big chunks, I took a bunch of pics and sent it to GM, they repainted the truck under warranty.
