I just drive it accordantly knowing it's a little higher, and don't sweat it. No need to get it done.

well you asked about a speedo which determines speed, not odometer which determine distance traveled

Everyone does 5 over anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. When I'm on the highway, I drive the posted speed limit 65 or 70 and I know that I'm only @5 mph over

So with larger tires @ 70MPH and if you are actually traveling about 5 MPH MORE than what is registering on the speedometer (i.e you are traveling more distance than what is registering, THEN your mileage on the odometer over time should actually be LESS than what is actual, CORRECT?

Taller tires cause your speedo to register slower mph and odo less miles.

Yes, mileage listed on the odometer reads out less than what is actual. Said more concisely "Taller tires cause your speedo to register slower mph and odo less miles." Thanks.

Totally agree. Just pointing out that you can probably drive another 80-100 miles after the computer hits zero. Not something I intend to try though. I've only hit zero twice in 12 years driving Toyotas.

I forgot about using Google Maps to register your speed. Good way to see how far off your speedometer is.

Well, I took one for the team and installed my 2016-2018 HyperTech inline calibrator in my 2020 OR today. Made sure it was updated to the latest firmware (it was), and I'm sorry to report that it does NOT work on this model year. My speedo sat at 0 MPH and the odo registered nothing while the module was installed. So, us 2020 people are just SOL until Hypertech gets off of their butts and updates the product. I've asked them twice over the past several months and got the same answer both times - no ETA for updating the firmware to officially support the 2019 and 2020 Tacoma 3.5L. Since they don't even support the 2019 in January of 2020, I'm not hopeful that it will ever happen, and unfortunately there are no alternatives (that I'm aware of) out there.

I bet the dealer could set the computer for the difference , if they truly wanted to. If anything it would help them with warranty mileage etc.

Just installed the Rough Country Speedometer Calibrator ($150) on my 2018 TRD Sport! (YES IT WORKS FOR 2WD!)
It says for 4wd, but it works for 2wd too! (VERIFIED BY ME!) I was worried about that cause it only says for 4wd...
I put in the programming 265/70/17 to 285/70/17. According to Gmaps & Waze its dead on...Some on here say 5mph difference @ 60-70 mph but mine was more like 3mph at those speeds... Finally it reads right!
Cruise Control does show a 3mph difference still, but I can live with that!

FYI: I'm in Cali and they sent it to me! Nice! Ordered it on Sunday Morning, and got Tracking Sunday afternoon!
Guess they work on Sundays, and just shipped it to me!:101010:

Also remember in a lot of states when you register or sell your vehicle you are signing that the odometer millage reading is accurate.

Do what us Canadians been doing for decades for the many many items that vvarious vendors won't ship to Canada.
Have it shipped at the border and go to pick it up, or, have it shipped to an out of state friend who'll forward it to you..
    Otherwise, relocate?

I thought not being able to buy denatured alcohol in CA was bad enough, now I can’t even buy a speedo calibrator

I had one delivered to my address in CA last year and installed it in about 20 minutes. Works a charm. Bought it on eBay for just over $200. Be sure to download the latest firmware from the Hypertech website.
