After the truck say for the past 2 months got her running again only to idle at 1800 rpms. I'm hoping this was the issue, you can't see great in the pic but there's a good amount of corrosion and the valve wasn't able to rotate freely. I cleaned it and will test tomorrow.

Thanks for the vote of confidence brotha . I’m gonna have to compare our alignment numbers. I just did mine the other night. I’m curious how we matched up considering you have adjustable uppers

what is the approximate lifespan on those LEDs?
looks brighter than the standard or else mine are very dimmed after the decades
maybe they will burn out and have to upgrade to what you have

i prefer halogen light but it probably put off a bit much heat lol

Just look at the build thread
Got a new steering rack mounting stud to replace my existing one. Can't find a torque spec on it. Does anyone know if it has a torque spec and what it is? I found the spec for the nut to the stud but not the stud going into the frame. Thanks.

Prolly not a spec for that. If I were in your shoes I would feel comfortable with seating the stud all the way down, the stud bottoms out right? Doesn't pass all the way through when getting it into position?
If when you're tightening the nut down to spec and you notice the stud turn a little then it just wasn't quite seated all the way. I would just restart from there and just keep tightening until you get it. You should be fine if I'm seeing it correct in my mind

    Stuff. Also things.
    Nice!

What did you do for prep and what paint did you use? I need to repaint mine because the white paint I used a year or two ago is finally starting to flake off of the chrome around the lens.

For prep i ran it under the sink :D.
Just used some 2x white krylon i found at walmart, we'll see how it holds up, im not too concerned. If you are painting over chrome i would for sure try to do some light sanding on the chrome to help the paint adhere a little better!

Since I’m waiting on some things to arrive, I decided to install some other things. After installing some things, I ordered more things... *David Attenborough voice* ensuring the cycle would continue.

Did you just bake those like headlights to get them apart? I remember reading that some start melting at lower temperatures.

It's the only way to get a PCB made for a reasonable cost and in less than a week or I would get in made elsewhere.
I'll have to test them more. These old boards run a little hot which is why we changed the design for the next batch, should last much longer.

LEDs generally lose output if they get too hot, and as they get old. So replacing yours is a good idea if they are old and dim.

Hit it with some steel wool pad to scuff the chrome plating. Use a self etching primer and then the paint. Let dry between steps at least 30-60 minutes. Should come out pretty nice and last a good while. Remember to put a dab of grease on the base of the bulb to prevent corrosion and help the socket last longer.

Fixed the broken wiring for the turn signal on the right with new bulb sockets for both sides. Someone apparently got overzealous and ripped the wiring out of the back of the original socket.

    video attached.

I would like to put LED’s all the way around, but my wallet is empty right now...

Thanks, yea I was a little wary cause its ebay and all...nearly bought the aircabinman one because it's tried and true, but this one popped up locally for considerably less $$$. Put it on my credit card so I could dispute the charge in case they sent me a bunch of cheap aftermarket parts instead, but it turned out to be a solid deal on an OEM Toyota timing belt kit

At the time I bought mine, I actually paid more for the kit than aircabinman because it looked like more parts were labeled Toyota so I had a better instinctive feeling about it. Also, I didn't really know much about aircabinman. Meanwhile, aircabinman has gone up to be one of the higher priced sellers. We all know he is enjoying a lot of free advertising from TW.

It think it is good we have some variation in suppliers and pricing. It keeps the parts scene competitive -- as it should be.
