Rosie's O'Grady's in Orlando was where I had my first Hurricane. I was 18. I looked and acted older than I was when I was younger and when I went to the disco's (yup) my drink of choice was tequila sunrise. Later when disco died (not really, it will come back) the bar scene, or club, turned to a themed atmosphere type of place. It was called Hammerjacks. They had multiple areas in a converted old warehouse. Live bands, rock, dance, country. It was great. I was drinking mind erasers. I like to experiment so I'll drink pretty much anything in a glass.

Ya I’ll try most things. When I was in Vegas about 13 years ago at a convention we went to a party. I was drink vodka cranberry. It got to the point that the drink was barely even pink anymore, was one of the few times I was like hey can you actually add some more cranberry to the drink. My drink of choice is Tequila and margaritas. Place called Chevys (TexMex) has a prickly pear margarita that I used to really like. Spent a lot of time in Miami doing work IT work for a cruise line. So me and the guys I was there with would visit them often (right across the street from our hotel). One night the manager comes over to our table and says hey we are testing new tequilas and if you give us feedback the shots are free. We were like hell ya. We drank a ton that night lol. Got back to the hotel and got our one friend to his room that could barely walk and I gave him a strainer and said if your gonna throw up do it in this.

Neat on the stuff, my grandfather had a similar version in the marines though in the South Pacific. He was on Iwa Jima. Never would talk about it. Sure did live hard and well when he got home though. Crazy times.

Those Old Men were the baddest of the bad in my book. I also have my GrandFathers dog tags from WWI. and his discharge papers. My GrandFather lived to be 98 and my Dad was 95 when he passed.

My gramps was in Korea. Didn’t talk much about it until he was I. His 70s and started to get Alzheimer’s. He did used to tell me they would go snake hunting in the summer with the Jeep punted machine guns.

Totally agree they were remarkable that's for sure. You can bet they all felt a varied amount of mixed emotions however they all knew how precious and important life was.

Korea was another crazy time, had one relative serve there as well and a few in Vietnam. Stories are always inspiring.

Agreed Dad said killing Germans was a no brainer. Killing horses to keep the Germans from getting supplies through was hard for him and some others to do.

My Dad fought with the Poles (short lived), Brits & then the Canadians. Was also a Siberia internee. Glad he made ‘er to Canada otherwise I wouldn’t be here.

Mine too, and Vietnam. We lived in Hawaii until the end of that one.

To all our Dad, retired, active and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I suppose the Bitch of it was my Dad never returned to his home country. Not even once. Guess he never wanted to see what was ultimately lost.
