At 0 caster i find it almost impossible to believe its aligned "well" but if it hasnt pulled you into a ditch I guess thats good. The factory upper control arms have virtually no caster setting movement.

This is the primary benefit of aftermarket uppercontrol arms (more caster)(more articulation)and is ESSENTIAL to aligning lifted suspensions with tires bigger than 265.

With High caster, the alignment tech can make GOOD use of the factory tacoma alignment cams for camber/toe settings. This is a non-negotiable part you will need for ANY lift 2"+ on a Tacoma or else bad shit starts to happen that cost s$$$$$$.

These upper control arms are GREAT: https://jbaoffroad.com/jba-std-high...plus-4runner-03-plus-fj-cruisers-07-plus.html
    -greaseable zerk fittings
    -sealed
    -HIGH CASTER
I can think of no other that provide so much for such a good price

    Preload doesn't "compress the spring"
Edit. It doesn't compress the spring in a conventional train of thought.

Also up travel is compression down travel is droop

It's not that he didnt listen. We didnt talk about it. I assumed they would not adjust it. And because of time constraints there was no time to redo it today

Its probably not his fault, he can only do what he can do with the physical parts in front of him. The factory upper-control arms on the tacoma were simply not designed for the Caster you need to get good numbers on bigger tires/lift. Ive seen people with 285 tires that have good after-market UCA's with 3 to 4 even past 4+ caster figures, and yours is it at 0 and the adjustments maxed.

I apologize, because this is hard to articulate in type.

Because you have no caster adjustment (essentially the wheel forward and backwards in the well) the tech is unable to properly configure Camber and Toe, simply because hes all out of caster. Thus they probably have to chase their tail with the other numbers and jimmy them around untill enough of them are in the "green". Again, bare in mind some alignment places will ALIGN TO THE FACTORY-GIVEN FIGURES FOR YOUR VEHICLE as it came from the toyota engineer manual. And obviously, because yours has wheels/suspension that are not factory, this both not possible, and not 'good'. Hopefully the tech recognized this at least, and subjectively tried to get it right for you, which they may have.

If you get it aligned good enough, no matter what I would grapple with the cold reality that lifting trucks necessitates after-market upper control arms, and this is a non-negotiable fact.
-yes it sucks that they dont make this more obvious, because 9/10th's of suspension manufacturers dont make UCA's and if people knew how utterly important they were and that they cost $500+ a signifigant portion would NOT lift their truck, buy their stuff, right?
-its not a matter of IF , but WHEN the damage occurs from a 2" lift without UCA's.

For the time being you will survive but just know to put this issue to bed that is what it will take. CVS will cost more

youre the only person giving bad information. literally its you. They by definition Do NOT work "fine" on the fourth clip. They work so poorly they shouldnt even be sold like that.

Have hou actually tried it? I have 35,000 miles on mine that way, including summer drives to Racetrack Valley and Steele Pass and they were more than fine. Those neon blue shocks with extra reservoirs are too expensive for some of us, and we did perfectly well saving money for other nice stuff by not falling for them.

Many people have no issues w 2in lift and factory uca, it's past there I've seen it highly reccomended. But this is Tacoma world, you will always be told by someone that you are making a bad decision.

Here's a picture from today of my driver side. UCA rests entirely on coil at full droop. Don't worry, JBAs have arrived and will be put on next Friday when I finally have the time to install.

Ps. I'm on 2.5" of lift

anecdotal crap. I dont need to eat shit to know it tastes like shit. I wouldnt put Bilstein 5100's on the fourth clip on your truck let alone mine, so no I havent tried it.

Uncle bob smokes 2 packs a day for 80 years. he lived to be 110. I think it would be a stretch to say thats the rule rather than the exception.
