I remember a customer years ago was giving me crap about a tankless water heater that I didn’t engineer or install in his pool house down by the lakes edgeo_O
I told him unfortunately my boss is in the business to make money not lose money.
    There’s more to the story:D

The "book" says it should take X amount of time to RR or R a particular repair. If you manage to make the repair in that allotted time or less, you've made a little money. But if you get bogged down in some unforseen nonsense and go over what the book calls for...you're now basically working for free. Plus, generally speaking, warranty work pays less than non warranty work. :(

I've heard this explanation before ... I understand it, but I think my brain just doesn't want to comprehend it.

The cats are family pets...but technically belong to my youngest daughter. We keep our bedroom door closed at night. So they sleep with her. But the wife didn't close the door last night. I dealt with one of them (the grey one) trying to snuggle with me most of the night.

They're pretty cool. They don't give me any problems and are low maintenance. So as long as the wife and daughters are happy with 'em, I'm fine with 'em.

Plus up here with extended warranty and complete rust things never go well.
No extra time like I said we have gone through this.

My problem is I have people’s lives in my hands. I take it very seriously weather it’s a wheel bearing on a truck or a gear change on the race car that runs 190mph.
So I lose income to make sure your kids are safe, your safe, and the roads are safe and I get called every bad name in the book and insulted.
Awful easy to throw shit from the cheap seats.
Crap I’m starting to monologue again.
    I’m done on the subject..
