Got the oil changed, tires rotated and rear brakes, cleaned and adjusted on the rig.

    Brakes looked great.

Crawled up underneath and sprayed some of this on some areas under the engine...especially the passenger side near the knock sensor wiring (common place for rodent damage).

Also did a coolant DAF on the daughter's Yaris.

    I remember having a garage
    Sigh
But at least I don’t have to mow but once a year here.
But having to lay plywood down over gravel sucks

The grey one in particular really bonded with my 12 year old along time ago.

Still amazes me that I bought my 2nd Gen with 23K miles on it, traded it in with 124K miles 6 yrs later...and NEVER replaced brake pads or shoes. Inspected them every Spring and Fall...had me scratching my head the last couple of years. Never had any vehicle do that before. Hope this 3rd Gen wears them as slowly. Time will tell. I think about this fun fact every time I read someone complain about the rear drum brakes. I guess you don't mess with what works. :notsure:

The Tacoma has relatively large brakes. So unless you're hauling or towing heavy loads...they just don't wear quickly. That said...I'm at 70k and will be doing front brakes pretty soon. Gotta bit of life still left in them

    Was it a standard?
My old one was standard and brakes looked fine at 113k miles.
    I used the clutch

Yes, I do the same...still amazes me.

EDIT: I'm really curious to see how the brakes on Kristi's Hybrid Highlander wear. If I understand correctly how the technology works, they should wear very slowly due to the braking action of the electric drive. :notsure:

Your drums look so clean compared to what I had when I pulled mine apart. I think I may have stretched/messed up the parking brake though when I was in there. It barely does anything now.
