My debate with a pot head

I don't know why there is an argument in this thread anyway. It wasn't made to be a pot vs no pot thread. I just wanted to share a funny story. Damn some folks in here need what some of what the guy I was talking to was having.

 

More or less. At the end of the day you are still burning brain cells any time you drink, smoke, breathe in fumes from something or other, get hit over the head, can't breathe, etc. Unless something is going to kill you in the next year its pretty pointless to argue about the health effects of something. I would be more worried about your short-term memory.

LOL Studying for a test for this class on Monday. Ironically thinking about this in terms of pot is a great way to study since this is exactly the kind of question that this guy likes to ask.

I havent even read any of the posts on this page but Im going to give my opinion.

I have no problem saying I am a bud smoker and am a heavily involved member of NORML.

Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol or tobacco. Around 50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.

Enforcing marijuana prohibition costs taxpayers an estimated $10 billion annually and results in the arrest of more than 847,000 individuals per year -- far more than the total number of arrestees for all violent crimes combined, including murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

Do you see what I am trying to say?!? Why is the government trying to control a substance that is not harming anybody and is costing the public $10 billion a year?

Lets hear your argument for why it should remain decriminalized?

No let's not hear an argument. That isn't what this thread is about. It was just a semi funny story I had. It is the off topic section after all.

 

OK here is my reasoning on why weed is criminalised.

1. Its an depressant/intoxicant.
2. Depresents make people lazy.
3. Lazy people are less productive.
4. It makes people hungry.
5. Hungry people with nothing to do eat too much.
6. Eating too much makes people fat.
7. Obesity kills.
8. Killing = murder.
9. Murder is bad.
10. Bad things are criminalised.
