I also have never gotten how a different color hood is a thing. Makes it look janky as hell

I’d be scared of that as well. Some combo of points mentioned previously.

My truck was purchased with a bug deflector mounted to it. When I removed it, the were several spots where the paint was damaged and rust had started.

I covered it with black Plasti-dip. Some thought it was pretty cool. I just wanted to cover the spots, etc.

After about 5 years, it finally got painted this past December. Lol.

I took a gamble and lucked up on a BMW hood.

My daughter wrinkled hers when she hit a deer with her 99 323i. I wanted a genuine BMW hood to put back on her car and found one several states away, to the north.

The guy said it was covered with a faux carbon fiber wrap, but the hood was in excellent condition. Only typical wear and tear for the age.

I met him in Virginia, brought it back home, but left the wrap on it. My daughter's male classmates thought her white 323i with the black CF hood was just tits.

After a few months, I decided to unwrap it. You can imagine my relief when the hood was in fact, perfect. Whew!

Anyone ever moved to Charleston area from New England? Making the road trip soon, it's a potential. :)

I don't mind snow. I really don't. It's the cold that comes with it. Warm snow would be fine. Went down to Austin, it was okay but not really my scene, my wife liked it though. I think I'd be okay there if we lived on the further outskirts, but it's way more dense city than I pictured. And, Charleston to "Home" in new england is a 15 hour drive. Not short by any means, but in an emergency, could up and scoot without much second thought. Austin is a 30ish hour drive.

We have a plant in Charleston, I could transfer and company might pay for the move + more. I'm not attached to Charleston, wife kind of is, but we have yet to visit. Probably looking for a city about the size of Charleston though.
