Started a little project while I was on break from college to keep me busy and have a little fun. I've been wanting a rear bumper for a while and I've also been wanting to design my own armor for a while so this is what I cooked up in the kitchen. The design went through a LOT of changes and I forgot to save the final rendering but this one is the closest to the final design. Basically the only thing I changed was having the chamfer on the bottom and adding a stop below the license plate. The cool thing about doing this design is I was able to get measurements right off the computer when I was cutting pieces and when it was time to tack everything fit like a glove.
    IMG_1419.jpg

I decided to start with rectangular tubing to get a clean fillet on the front edge and reduce the amount of plasma cutting and grinding and stuff, not to mention it was easy to buy.

    IMG_1420.PNG.jpg

After getting everything cut it was time to tack and fit onto the modified bumper brackets

(Ignore the fact that this is from snapchat)

    IMG_1421.PNG.jpg
Then it was time to lay down some beads. Not bad for being taught at home right?

    IMG_1422.PNG.jpg IMG_1387.jpg
After adding a receiver and supports I gave it a couple coats of spray paint and tapped some holes for the license plate and license plate lights. I'm pretty stoked with how it turned out, I was going for a farm truck/offroad camper look and I think I got that. Let me know what you guys think!

I put some Amazon Chinese knockoffs in my bumper today to make it legal again. The seals crumbled on the stock ones when I took them off to switch it out and were leaking. Also had some little bugs living in them, which was kinda weird.

Fixed my fathers coolant gauge that was going haywire with another gauge cluster I’ve had for a few years. Swapped the odo over and all is working fine again
[IMG] [IMG] Going to pickup some Sylvania leds for the cluster right nkw

Alright. I’ve been dealing with this for a while now. No heat in my truck. Assuming it’s the heater core because the heater valve works fine.

Does the temp gauge ride in the middle of the range and stay there once it heated up?

that FF stuff failed miserably on me in the key splash zones in the rear and IDK what the heck i did wrong applying it :notsure: nobody can produce pics of it adhering to their trucks key splash zones in a near similar climate as I to show me what the heck the deal is

what is your purpose for it?

i am now trying CorrosionX HD in the splash zones and see how it handles my journey west to the mountains this week, it smells worse than FF does! but it takes a bit more to remove, i.e., mineral spirits

its pricey, though! almost $18-19 for this 12 oz can

This would go much more easily with no winch at all. You can see the cut out in grill for the old one. 20200126_105643.jpg 20200126_114352.jpg

For as much money as you are blowing on dozens of cans of Fluid Film and other alternatives weekly, you'd be better off buying a Camry or some cheap beater to drive in the winter and leave the truck alone.

It's dual purpose for me. First, my wife likes it when I lather myself up in it and slide around the hardwood floors. Second, it's a great addition to my morning protein shakes and gives that extra flavor needed to spice up my rice cakes.
