I don’t have 5.29 and honestly don’t see the value of a tune specified for larger gears. However I do foresee someone trying it somehow down the road.

there are many trucks that have an issue with being speed limited on 5.29s. This tune aims to correct that

Makes sense. I don’t know top speed of our trucks as I’m not a huge speeder. However going down a long hill with seemingly a mile or more visible ahead of me and no roads or driveways tied to that section I did get to 110 then quickly let off. I’m too chicken to drive like that especially with a vehicle that’s not much lower to the ground.

Some places have speed limits of 80-85 so it's in the realm of going the speed limit for some.

I’ve never driven an area with a speed limit above 70 I don’t think. Want to say years back I was in Texas and saw 75 but that could be my imagination.

You likely did. Near the cities it ranges 65-75 at least around the Dallas area. Most of my time on the freeways here its 75mph, I do avoid going to downtown dallas. When I make trips out to BBNP its 80 or 85 mph in some places.

@OVTune thank you for all that you do and even have the time to explain in details of the process and what you go through. I and I'm sure many others are very fine and patient for the final release. Im super happy with 2.0 Beta on 91. Still am to do this day. I never had so much fun with it till last night when I met up with my buddy in his 14 civic SI (tuned/tuning himself) and we had a couple runs. I have never never ever had my truck kick me back in my seat so dam card from 15mph. (91 base 2.0) Amazing tune, the highway driving is the biggest game changer. Cant say it enough how awesome and see how far you have come with tuning this truck! On a side note if you/anyone can tell or link to me. What is the actual difference between 2.0 91 and 2.0 91 Performance? Are they putting out the same output in regards to power etc or no? Sure does feel like it lol

Programming itself is not hard shit. Monkey can do it. Programmer/Analyst that is the other cast. Smartetes...
I managed "programmers" in 24/7 production environments..

@OVTune - I am begging you, for all that is holy and good in this world, PLEASE create a new thread for the upcoming 2.0 release. You can/should link back to this thread at the bottom of the new one -- for historical reference -- but, every last one of us REALLY needs the conversation to start fresh with the release of 2.0. In the world of software forums, every other piece of software or driver on the planet starts a fresh thread for every major release. Please don't just tack it on to the end of this one.

It's soon going to be time to put this thread to rest and create an "OVTune 2.0 Official Release" thread. Seriously.

    Thank you for the consideration.

"Programming" is a broad spectrum. What @OVTune is doing is probably 1/10th programming, 8/10 reverse engineering, and 1/10 dyno time. (Rough approximation, forgive me if i'm way off Mat)

I'm a "programmer" and what I do is "simple" PLC ladder logic. The difficult part comes during startup where I have to troubleshoot hardware issues. It's all relative.

Programming in and of itself is not hard if you have the brain for it. The hard part is making code that anyone other than you can understand, modify, and maintain. If you are working from a template and design standards that becomes much easier.

The worst part about programming is having to decipher someone else’s code. What makes sense to one person may not make any sense at all to someone else.

It was hammered into me when I took my first VB class 15+ years ago in HS, COMMENT YOUR FUCKING CODE! If not for someone else, for you when you inevitably have to look at it again in the future.

Flash forward to the Mitsu. robot I have been working on where every line of code (commented or not) costs your 12ms of execution time. Fucking bullshit.
