See I've wondered why they couldn't just include a small gas or diesel powered generator onboard for this type of situation. Wouldn't take up a ton of space, it can run at ideal rpm/load etc, no drivetrain losses, you could carry extra fuel for extended range

The synergy between Fiat and Dodge has resulted in everyone’s expectations being exceeded, time and time again.

Damn brother you are way too smart to be working for Dodge. They must pay you very well.

Dodge is everything that’s great about American Manufacturing, and bold Italian leadership.

You already have a truck that runs on electricity.
Without the electricity from spark plugs, your gasoline won’t ignite, and gasoline pumps won’t function without electricity.
Not everyone pays cash for gas. Debit or credit card?

You have a battery, electric starter, wires, coil packs, alternator, electric lights, electric wiper motors, electric display and head unit, speakers, electric heater assist, electric HVAC fan, computer, telematics, electronic driving aids, sensors for airbags and charge for deployment, seat sensors, electric seat heaters, power seats, mirrors with heat, sunroof motor......
And then there’s electric compressors, refrigerators, solar panels.....

Just get rid of the gas engine and replace it with an electric motor.

And then also dump the transmission, exhaust system, gas tank and fuel....

    Add a big battery.

It won’t be so bad. Horses worked, but they really haven’t been that great for transportation in a long time.

    Would be sweet to have.

I am hoping Tesla, Toyota or Rivian will make a direct powertrain replacement.

For me personally, it is not about having the latest tech, it is about reducing my impact on the environment. Sounds like a bunch of hippy shit right?

My thinking is why not help leave this place cleaner than it was when I was here so MAYBE our future generations can enjoy this place like we were able to.

This place will be nothing like we know it in 40 years. Automated everything. No bank tellers, no one to take your order at mcdonalds. No one needs to drive. Automation is the future and it's very boring.

Sadly I think you’re right. It’s easier and easier to stay inside and easier to do well basically everything. The minute anyone gets challenged now, they get discouraged and all of sudden it’s because they have something wrong with them.

Long gone are the days of if you can’t do it, you figure out how.

This is so true in my age group. No one is willing to get their hands dirty and everyone would rather have someone else do it for them. It’s pretty sad. I but heads with a lot of my peers over this.

Imma guess One of the General Motors companies. And it will probably suck. It will take a few years for one of them to make one as reliable as an already proven ICE fitted truck. Personally, I’ll drive ICE vehicles until it becomes impossible to. I like engines in my vehicles. I live in a frozen shithole and they have proven pretty reliable. Batteries seem to hate it.
