It sucks that it’s gotten trashed over the years with crack heads living up there, people dumping mature Hemlocks for firewood, garbage dumping and burned out abandoned vehicles. DNR announced it’s getting gates and dug out in the near future. The little lake up there is one of my top bass fishing spots. I can catch 2# all day long and have caught some around 5# not bad for a little lake at 1,200’ in the middle of nowhere.

@zhekakz @Shadowhunter I've been going out there for about 16 years and they've been saying they're gonna gate it since then... will be sad when it finally does get closed down, but like you said theres always a lot of garbage, and the sadder thing is it's mostly locals who dump the garbage.

There’s a tweaker compound on the Christian Camp side. I was short cutting through there going deer hunting up North mountain and got behind a little blazer looking contraption that was rolled, no windows, mirrors hanging off, no plates and a tin metal roof screwed on it that pulled into where the compound is. We even had a prolific thief living up there they finally treed him with a K-9 down by Mt. Vernon, dude had like 29 felony charges. They were posting in the local community Facebook group to “clean up and haul trash” People were paying the shit bags to haul trash to the dump and they were pocketing the money and dumping it up there. They got away with it for a few months before citizens started picking up garbage finding addresses and putting people on blast in the group. People started to put 2&2 together and figured out the common denominator. Honestly they need to be drug behind a truck until there’s nothing left.

I really wanted to throw my hat in the ring to lead a group up there but quite frankly I’m a little embarrassed about what a shit hole it’s become. I’ve mentioned the spot a couple times on here for people to check out after I heard the gate is going in. I didn’t before because as a local it was kinda our spot and didn’t want everyone to know about it but since the methheads destroyed and turned it into a scene from Mad Max I let the cat outta the bag. Every March and April there’s a run with a hundred rigs up there. I have a feeling the gate is going in in late February and DNR will be there impounding rigs and writing tickets to make a stand and get the word out.

Man that gets complicated quick. They certainly don't keep it simple from generation to generation or across platforms anymore. Is that the same that the 3rd gen Tacoma has?

    let’s plan something soon then
    Before the gate goes up
And if you can lead that would be great

my goal right now is to go out at least once a week
I don’t care where just some where
    Even if it’s by myself
It’s hard to plan something with work and life and everything else that needs to get done that’s why all the trip I do is like last minute
And those trip turn out to be the best

That's how I roll. I stopped making plans a long time ago. Something always seems to come up and then plans aren't the plan anymore. I figure if I don't plan anything, then I can't be disappointed if something doesn't happen. :notsure:

For me it would go something like this: "those trips turn out to be when I break shit and I'm by myself." :anonymous:
